You connect these to your wifi no separate hub necessary and yes if you link the Kasa app to smartthings, you can control them with the smartthings app.

I do this. I have connected Kasa to SmartThings/Alexa/Google​.

fyi, if you look at your facebook ads, you'll see this deal cheaper.

How do these compare to WeMo and Wyze. I have few of Wemo and need 3 more. I have Wyze App for Camera. Not sure if I want to add another App.
