Most ground coffee isn't going to work with this according to their notes. Most brands grind medium not medium coarse.
That may be too fine and therefore not allow it to strain properly by clogging the strainer or caking.

So be prepared to grind your own whole bean.

If you check the reviews . Lots of people who can't seem to grind coffee to the correct size and clogged their filter 🤣

TLDR this is not a replacement for K cup users. This takes time and effort to use correctly.

wow, thanks op for posting this.

i have little faith this will replace my paper filter use
since i have a collection of such metal mesh filters
that either clog or let too much bits and dust through,
but at $5 it's worth the risk trying this iteration...

paper is so cheap (literally less than 1c each) I really never got the hassle of a reusable filter.

While I agree that it's more hassle than tossing the paper and grounds into the compost, I'm not sure I'd consider it, objectively, to be a "hassle". Dumping grounds and rinsing the filter for 3 seconds is hardly difficult.

And besides, some folks like myself prefer a richer cup of coffee with more of the oils making their way through.

To each their own, I suppose.

Manufacturer and reviewers say it needs a deeper cleaning every 2-3 weeks even if you manage to get all the "just right size to clog pores" particles out. I mean I get it if for some reason you prefer the taste with out paper filtering but that is about the only reason for me.

I've gone the screen route before. I found I preferred using a filter because the filter absorbs some of the flavors I don't like. It depends on the coffee I use. I buy a 100 filters for like $5, I don't mind splurging for them.
