After reading all the discussions about ram amount, I'm just curious how many browser tabs people keep open at a time during a typical day.

The ones who have actually used them personally say 8 is enough for most people.

Another very expensive problem with today's Apple. Prior to 2016, you could buy a computer and later upgrade it by adding more RAM or storage later once your needs change. My daily driver is a mid 2012 MBPro. I've doubled the RAM and added a SSD over the years.

Now, everything is soldered, so upgrades are impossible. To get 16 or 32 MB of RAM or a bigger SSD, you need to pay 3 times the price up front of what upgrades would cost for the same configuration, even if you don't realize the need now.

No thanks, Apple.

Got one with $50 off coupon. Sounds good to me. My work computer is a 2017 MacBook Pro 16" with 16GB ram and I have my memory usage of 12-14GB with 4/5 worn related applications with 2-3GB usage. This personal Mac mini will just use for some website browsing purposes and probably good enough…..

I bought the 77 CX with my 100 coupon, and it was a bundle, and I got 212 credited back when it dropped in price last week. Costco is pretty good about these things. Submit the form online; you might be surprised.

My MacBook Pro only has 8GB RAM and is more than adequate for most daily tasks. This system is even more efficient so unless you are video editing or other more memory intense processes you are absolutely fine getting 8GB.

Those who say it's not enough without even explanation are just ignorant.
