Usually when people go to buy these I'd tell them to buy these https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16...6820232880 instead for the better timing. Now the price gap is way bigger I'd say this is the better buy right now. Prior to this being posted I'd say the other ram was the best bang for your buck. This is a good deal. If you're in the market go for it.

18 22 22 42 < 16 19 19 39 < 16 16 16 36.

FPS difference would be like 9 FPS gains in a perfect situation where 16-16-16-36 would gain about 20 FPS over the 42 and only 11 fps over the 16-19-19-39. Again this is all things being equal with ideal CPU pairing. It's a 1% FPS gain in most situations.

With some games you won't get any difference. So again it's a personal choice. If you're asking, you won't notice the difference, get the cheaper option. That much I think anyone who understands RAM would agree with.

This isn't always a valid argument unless you can overclock your 3200 to 3600 by loosening timings, especially if you have an amd system and are increasing infinity fabric frequency along with memory frequency.

At 2133... HP blacklists all non HP RAM to run at 2133 1.2v
Youd have to check jedec profile to see if these can handle CL22 at 3200 1.2v since there is no way to increase DRAM voltage to 1.35 AFAIK. Thats what the hyperx fury runs at. Youd then have to use Ryzen master to overclock the RAM to 3200 (or higher if they can handle it at 1.2v)

This is 2019 price. Is Moore's law dead for RAM? Is it the work from home effect or is there a crypto currency that uses RAM, instead of GPU or HDD?

And those are typically gains @ 1080P where it scarcely matters. Buy the cheap stuff and put the savings towards a better GPU.

I had a R7 2700 system with a Asus ROG Strix B450 board and was unable to get these over 3000mhz no matter how hard I tried to mess with timings and voltage. It may be better now that we have new memory controllers on newer AM4 boards but just letting people know. I had to send them back and get something else.

If you know your upgrade path it's still worth it to get good memory, My current kit is 3600 16-16-16-36 B-die which I first ran with a Zen+ APU and I was able to get it stable at 3200 14-14-14-34. Stressed the hell out of that 3200G's memory controller but I did what I had to until Zen 3 came out.
