Got my V11 for around $350. Also have a V6 Absolute. If you don't own a Dyson, I would suggest testing which model you plan to buy before actually buying. There are a lot of times I prefer using my V6 over my V11 because it's just about perfect with the amount of air flow it has. V11 can adjust automatically, but it can still sometimes be too powerful, even if you adjust it from the head. IMO, main advantage of the V11 is in its capacity or cleaning carpet, but not rugs because it will pull the rug from too much suction.

I have this problem with cheaper rugs like from Target. Heavier rugs from say Pottery Barn are not an issue. I have a V8 and it pulls the rug sometimes, especially those super light and cheap rugs for children's rooms.

In V11 you can remove some of the suction from the head by flipping the switch on it, but it's still going to cling to some rugs. Best thing with the V11 is to pull it backwards. On my V6 it's no problem. Only issue with V6 is it has a smaller waste canister and battery doesn't last as long. They both work though. I'm just selective on what part of the house I use them on.
