I bought this Dethatcher when it was on sale at amazon for $ 119.00 and and very happy with the result. Now we have the most beautiful green lawn in our neighborhood.
1st pic - shows the dead grass we got out. It filled the whole bin.
2nd pic - is the lawn after detaching and reseeding.
3rd pic - is the final result after 4 weeks and watering 2 times a day.

The one was on sale at Lowes is different model 27022 and has 3 different height level this one is DT14B00 and doesn't have different height adjustment.
Nice price for this machine but I would suggest paying little more and getting one with the basket to catch the clippings. Having to pick up the dead grass will take you 4-5x longer than running the machine itself and leaving the dethatched grass on the lawn is not really an option.
Kentucky bluegrass should be dethatched in the spring (April) or fall (Sept.) when it is actively growing and never in the summer. Zoysiagrass, on the other hand, should be dethatched in the summer when it is actively growing. Tall fescue and perennial ryegrass rarely develop a thatch problem because of their bunch-type growth habit.

Are dethatchers like this any good? I bought the lawn mower blade dethatcher and used it for like 30 seconds. I did NOT like what it did to my lawn. Basically just balded it.
Great article! When you dethatch you may need to reseed so find out the best grass growing season for your region and I would detach then other wise detaching and reseeding might require alot of water to get new grass going.
Having researched more on grass maintenance, it sounds like dethatching is more of an annual maintenance that should be supplemented with aeration periodically as well. When I was a kid, I used to wonder why the playing field was filled with holes and 'plugs' and now it makes sense. Home Depot rents a commercial variety for $60-ish an hour. For those with mature lawns, might want to look into aeration as well.

Also as stated in the post, greenworks didn't honor orders in the previous deal and it was a bait and switch.
