I normally brew straight in the pot and filter out but this is cheap enough to consider on the go. Thanks

Brand: Sweese
Sold by: The Inspired Home
Business Name: LEYINGHONG

No name sellers out of china is not where I'd go to buy things for hot food consumption. Too many unknowns re quality/materials.
Yes, many things are made by name brands and major retailers in china...but those are held to standards and the quality is tested bc they don't want to get sued.

maybe it's fine maybe it's not.

Is this the same? About The Inspired Home
The Inspired Home was founded by The International Housewares Association

The International Housewares Association is a not-for-profit, full-service trade organization that has been promoting the sales and marketing of housewares since 1938. The association has more than 1,600 member companies from more than 40 countries.

This is what the Sweese website says. https://sweese.com/pages/faqs

Is Sweese product Lead-free & Cadmium-free?
Our products do meet the standards for California. And Sweese does regular testing to ensure this. It may contain a few % of lead/cadmium, but they are lead & Cadmium safe.

Where are your products manufactured?
Our manufacturing is currently not in the U.S. but that is definitely our long-term goal. Our manufacturer based in China now. In the meantime, we have put in several checks during and after production to ensure the safety and quality of our products. We know your concern about the health, our porcelain is PROUDLY FDA approved.

Just curious if anyone knows how would it be FDA approved?

I'm sure not the same.
LEYINGHONG -> Le Ying Hong is a Chinese name.
Business address in Guang Dong, China

I don't think Amazon will check any trademark for 3rd party seller name unless there is a complain.
The website exactly like those Chinese companies using Shopify to make a site looks like American companies

Back to the deal, it's an ok deal (when there is a popup coupon posted here, you know its an ad)
I have a porcelain tea mug from Chinese grocery store with porcelain tea infuser for $5.

So when Sweese say on their website that manufacturing in the US is their long term goal they are not being truthful? If Chinese owned why would they have a goal of manufacturing in the US?

I didn't believe it or disbelieve it. I know nothing about them.

I agree, they are really nice. I bought a no text version of this cup in 2018. Same model, brand, seller. [amazon.com]

It is really beautifully made. I have used it weekly..no wear/stains. It says Lead-Free on the bottom label, but I have done no scientific testing.

Very happy with mine.

Or is the Sweese name being used fraudulently on Amazon?
I just said seller's name "The Inspired Home" is probably not the one you think.
It's created solely on Amazon to sell the Sweese brand products.
You can't even find any reference of Sweese in the official theinspiredhome.com

From look of Sweese website and description, my instinct told me it's a well marketed brand by Chinese company, I'm not saying their products are good or bad.
Might be they will become household name like Anker in tech.
