I needed to upgrade the cable modem after taking advantage of the SD for the Xfinity 400Mbps speed tier.

Check mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com [xfinity.com] to make sure the modem is approved and compatible for your internet speed tier.

For me the CM2000 was listed as compatible, and plenty of future proofing (if not overkill)

Lol this "Flash sale" seems to be just a flashy name rather than an actual sale. Maybe the CM2000 is little bit lower but for sure other models are not worth buying at those prices.

Tempting to pick one up just because of the recent Xfinity plan change from 100mbps to 400mbps... and I'm still on my ~$30 Linksys CM3008.

For folks on gig service with multi-GbE adapters/routers, these are popular as folks can get around 1000-1200Mbps, depending on how good your line/area is.

Exactly why I posted this. That Linksys modem will throttle you to less than 100Mbps. I searched all night for a deal and found this, so I hope my research will help others. The CM2000 will let me get the speed I'm paying for (and futureproof for the next speed upgrade). Pays for itself since you are not paying modem rental fees. Plus it keeps my tenants happy (wife and kids)

If you want unlimited data, it's cheaper to get xFi Complete for $25 with modem rental vs $30 for unlimited data with your own modem

Thanks. I've seen that mentioned a few times, but I was not given that option. xFi modem would be $14 per month for me. Not sure if I am doing something wrong, but I think the offers vary from area to area.

The modem rental is $14/mo but xFi Complete adds on a few extras like coverage and unlimited data for $25/mo. https://www.xfinity.com/learn/int...i-complete

Yep which is why its great that ATT has expanded some of its fiber offering, since there is no data cap on their fiber. I jumped ship the second I saw Comcrap start charging for overages on their internet plans. It will suck if I have to move to an area without ATT fiber as I will not pay Comcast their extortion fee of $25 for unlimited data.

East coast cause they sued Comcast I believe still is not being charged overages but its coming!

As for this deal lukewarm at best as there have been cheaper options multiple times.

I could only get 270Mbps with that modem. I will see what the Netgear CM2000 can do once I get it Friday.

Man, they really don't like discounting Internet and Voice modems. I need an EMTA modem since we have Voice from Xfinity as well as internet.
