The reason why popcorn pops is the water trapped inside its kernel. If the kernel is heated to a high enough temperature, this water will transform into steam. ... With high temperatures, the starch gelatinizes and then expands with the rapid burst of the kernel. You just saved $6.22. /s

These make great gifts. You can likely access ebooks from your local library if you don't need the physical copy.

As an alternative, the ebook version is/was free via Prime Reading (not to be confused with the Kindle Unlimited).

I borrowed/rented it awhile ago so not sure if it's still available this way or not. Hope that helps.

Absolutely! The explanations are kind of basic, but it's a great jumping-off point to spark curiosity and do more reading/research about a topic. My son loves all of the NG books in this series, and has read them many times over.

I bought this book for my 7 years old daughter. I felt like some of the questions were so silly that even kids will not ask them. Useless
