Better most likely not, will it do the job and cut your grass, yeah it will. Only concern is the run time based on the amh of the battery. That's it! Some mowers have 2 cross blades instead of 1 and will give a "better" cut. I have a 60v Craftsman because it was cheap and i needed a replacement, it worked on 300sqf and it works on half an ac up a hill. Only thing with battery powered anything, you will be locked into a system so be prepared when it comes to other choosing other tools. Unless you don't care and buy what fits your needs. Then again you will end up with a bunch of different batteried tools. But battery tools, especially regarding lawns are here to stay.
Not better. But you don't need to worry about tuneup and gas / oil. Depending on how big your lawn is might work or not.
The 80 volt motor will use less amperage than the 24 volt motor while doing the same amount of work. Also, there will be more max-power at the mowers disposal. Consider this math for total power capacity. W=V x A is the formula. This mower has 80V x 4Ah = 320Wh of power capacity (like a gas tank)
The other mower you mentioned is 24V x 5Ah x 2 = 240 Wh.

Practically, I have found higher AH rated batteries giving better performance even in the same tool.

Considering all this, I would always go for the higher Voltage tool and higher Ah rated batteries. I am not an expert at all, and welcome other people to chime in with their experiences and thoughts.

Storage for longer than 60 days of no use for lithium batteries is best at 45-65% charge to prevent chemical capacity degradation.

This is why your cell phone, tablet and laptop is half charged when you open it out of the box.....
Yes, exactly, which is why I suggested charging them up every couple of months during storage. I might alter that to say "every month" but there's no need to try to keep them topped off all winter.

I think this is the exact Ego I've been looking at. I've heard it's a step above most other electric mowers, but it better be for the price. Glad to hear it's working well for you. I wish my city did a rebate like that!
My wife has mentioned a few times that she's amazed at how much grass is getting bagged (using the high-lift blade.) I sincerely doubt it's somehow bagging more than in previous years. I think we've just got a thicker lawn this year due to me having fertilized better, but still, it's not worse than the gas one at that.
And yes, the rebate process was smooth considering. I mean, it's still a rebate, but I got the check within a month of submitting (had to do it over the phone because you needed a "pre-approval" and between my approval and submission they'd changed the numbering scheme and the online system wouldn't take mine. But the city employee over the program was fantastic and yeah, I got the check without too much hassle, so that was all I really cared about.
Side note: I did also get a 10% Lowes coupon which also helped - basically paid sales tax.
I've only used one Ego mower prior to this (mowed a neighbor's much smaller and flatter yard) and it honestly wasn't bad at all. I was just still a little nervous about the occasional complaints (online reviews) about lack of power so when I saw the XP was more powerful, I kinda got sucked into the idea of it (not to mention apparently they're quite difficult to find in stock anywhere now. I think Acme is the only place that still has a few at the moment.) But basically, you're paying for the massive battery and getting a mower for not much more, and in this it has delivered.
But like I said: so far so good. And the new [even-rapider than rapid] charger is now the only one I use (I have 2 others of the "slow" ones) because it's just so much faster, especially with the 2/2.5 Ah batteries - plus the charge level display is quite nice.
