I bought the 35in Zero-G back in October 2020. Last month in April the screen started "whiting out" periodically - maybe from overheating, idk. Point is, I raised the issue with Monoprice and they acknowledged this was a new issue and sent me a pre-paid shipping label to return it. I sent it back and got a new one about a week and half later. So far so good.

Personally, I had a good experience with their return process. I also recommend keeping the original box for a bit, returning this thing in a lawnmower box wrapped in bubble wrap was not ideal

Edit: also available at Target for $299.99 + 5% off with RedCard, effectively reducing the price to $284.99 before tax.

if it's just for office-type use, then the biggest factors that i can think of is the curvature and height adjustment. the 1800R on the zero-G is less curved than dark matter (bigger number = less curved). zero-g does not appear to have height adjustability, whereas the dark matter does.

deeper curve is better for gaming where you sit fairly close to your monitor. it'll give you better immersion as the curvature better matches your natural peripheral view. i'd imagine that for office use, you wouldn't want as aggressive of a curve.
Pretty much the pros for the Dark Matter are the HDR, higher refresh rate and most importantly the stand (height adjustable).

The Zero G is cost. I have the Zero G and not a single regret. It's been rock solid and has a great picture. I put mine on a nice full articulating arm mount to fit in my desk. I prefer that to the stand, but it did cost a little extra to find a proper one for the desk and monitor.

For productivity, either will do great. You won't need the HDR or refresh rates of the Dark Matter. However, you might not like the stand on the Zero G.

I didn't need to pricematch. It was already $299 during checkout
Plus another $15 off with red card! I'm having a hard time not pulling the trigger.

I just bought 3. Return thru target is too easy not to if you're hesitant. Unless you don't have a target nearby.

I pulled the trigger on the 34" dark matter. Will be the first new monitor I've used in 10 years. Even if its not perfect, I'm assuming it's going to be amazing compared to the 60hz dell trash I'm using now.

All I need now is for the legion 5 pro to be released in NA and I'm set for the next 8-10 years.
Same here, brother. We get to experience 2021's display tech, now! I think the HDR and DP1.4 will make it super dank for years to come.

Bought the Zero-G to replace my wife's 2 x 24" 1080p. Contemplating replacing my Sceptre 32" 1440p I use for work. I have a Sammy 34" uwqhd on my pc that is great, with the identical specs.

To follow up on this, they look virtually identical except for the built-in speakers on the LG (which are kinda useless, I would think for most people) and the connectivity, though as long as there's 1 DisplayPort, I'd be good. I'm actually thinking of picking up two of these and returning the LG's to Costco once they arrive.

If the dark matter has the same VA panel my Gigabyte G34wqc has, same specs, that's a great deal. Might both be the cheaper end of Samsung VA panels, but can't beat it for the money.

Did anyone price match / or know of a way to price match Dark Matter at Target?

Also what would be the major difference between 35 vs 34 Dark Matter, not intended for gaming.

Thanks

It looks like all of these are limited to 300 nits, which is fine in a basement, but not in a room with windows. You want displayhdr 400 at least for an office monitor.
Dark Matter is 400 Nits

Same panel but much worse OSD than the Gigabyte. But for the price I'd eat it which is exactly what I did

Thanks OP. I've been looking for a 32in curved gaming monitor in the sub $300 range and was starting to think it wasn't going to happen.

I'm not looking at the 35" at this point, more looking to compare the 32" curved Zero-G. 5 bucks more for 165hz, curved, and 32" vs 27". Only for gaming. I'm not really sold on 32" at QHD over the 27" for gaming, or VA vs IPS for that matter, but it's hard to pass up "more" monitor for the same money.
Only a casual gamer myself - if you can get 32" then go for it. My friend bought a 32" UW and he loves it.

Each monitor has its own pro and con. I think G27q prob has better color and contrast; MP probably has better HDR and brightness.

I use a Dell 32'' QHD for gaming, it's perfectly fine. I returned the HP Omen 27'' QHD in favor of the Dell. I fells like it's a great middle-ground between resolution and performance. You are not going to notice the difference between 144hz and 165hz, nor VA and IPS, unless you are a professional and have really sharp eyes.
