Enjoy the bright projection of solid spruce with the Idyllwild™ Spruce Solid Top Acoustic Electric Guitar! Our solid top guitars offer a level of playability found only on guitars costing $400-$500 or more. Great for direct recording to computer, rockin' on a Saturday night, or leading worship on Sunday morning, the Fishman® Isys+ pickup system provides a warm, natural tone, while its built-in chromatic tuner ensures that you are always in tune and sounding your best.

The 10mm thick heavy-duty gig bag protects your guitar from dings and scrapes as you travel. All Monoprice guitars are setup by hand in Southern California. Setups include having the frets filed so they are free of sharp edges, ensuring that the nut and bridge are properly seated at the correct height, that the strings have the right amount of action with no buzzing, and that the electronics are functioning properly, so you can plug in (or not) and play right out of the box!

Solid Top: Solid top guitars offer richer sound with a greater dynamic range than laminate or ply tops. This means that high frequencies sound sweeter and low frequencies are fuller.

Fishman® Isys+ Pick Up: The Fishman® Isys+ pickup system provides a warm, natural tone, while its built-in chromatic tuner ensures that you are always in tune and sounding your best.

Protection: The 10mm thick heavy-duty gig bag protects your guitar from dings and scrapes as you travel.

Enjoy!

I sure hope their acoustic guitars are better than their basses. I had one of their bourbon street basses and it was awful. The action was 3 miles off the fret board. The nut wasn't cut right and would never stay in tune, the frets weren't level. I wrote a review and big surprise, they never let my review go through. Imagine that.

I've bought plenty of things from monoprice, from one of their tube amps to hdmi cables and other things but as far as their instruments go, based on my personal experience, I would say buyer beware or proceed with caution. But who knows, maybe the quality is better now and you wind up lucking out.

But I do want to say just because I got a lemon doesn't mean they might all be lemons and it was a little while ago... So, it doesn't exactly mean these will be bad. I really can't say. I bought that bass like 3 or 4 years ago. I don't have it anymore. Lots of things can happen between then and now. I just kind of feel like for me, I would be totally rolling the dice and it might be hit or miss. I'd prefer to hear other peoples experiences that have bought an instrument from them more recently as opposed to when I did, the quality control could have potentially improved or at least I would hope so. But ya know, I'm of the mind set. Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame on me. So based on that one time for me I would be much more hesitant to try again.

I get you, but it's a shame that mono price is probably "filtering" reviews and presumably they are for other products on their site...... I think at this price point quality can and will vary.... if you can set up your own guitars that takes out 50% (+-)of the risk, not sure what the return policy is, but if it's good, that reduces risk a lot also...

Another factor is that wood should be seasoned prior to a build and at this price it's a definite, probably not, maybe, hopefully, who knows.... and it will change depending on rh, temp, season, aging, climate, position of the sun and moon, your GF's mood, and the height of your grass

It's a fine looking axe even if just for decoration imho.

I would definitely be hesitant and filtering reviews is sure as hell a big red flag to me. I really don't get why companies do this. Monoprice products are not bad in general and yet they do these shady tactics like that's going to stay secret forever. Someone should create a list of companies that filters reviews out.

I had a horrible experience in with a contractor I had hired based 4.8/5.0 rating and 90+ positive reviews on homeadvisor.com. The slightly lower rated ones were not that bad at all. It was a BIG mistake. The guy not only didn't finish the job, he hit my car and screwed up the project wasting double the materials. I tried leaving the negative review and they wouldn't post it. After that I knew why their contractors have such high ratings. Its because they are either fake or just the positives.

Reviews used to a pgreat way to tell if someone or something was good generally but now not so sure....

Well I have one on it's way but it will go back if it's a mess and I can't set it up...,I am not expecting a lot though just for it to semi stay in tune and intonation to not to far out of whack.....

I have this guitar and it is excellent. I also grabbed one of those basses years ago and that wasn't very good.

The bass was the only guitar I didn't like. The Tube amp (Laney copy) and other guitars have been great.

FYI... which kind of makes deals like this (big packaging) risky (er) is that evidently Monoprice does NOT pay return shipping so return costs from NY to CA would nearly cost prohibitive to return it.

I found this out after buyimg.thr 3/4 classical guitar (FP deal too) that .....
could not stay in tune to.save the lives of a bucketfull of cute kittens....
