I'm right handed and there's no game console or pc for that matter that I've controlled movement with the right hand. Movement has always been controlled with the left hand. Maybe I'm going crazy. 🤡
Same here. I've been playing arcade games for over 40 years and the only games I (also right-handed) can ever remember controlling with my right hand are the Pac-Man games.

Cool, thanks, I appreciate it, rep sent your way... What are some good sites to get the roms? I think I'm gonna make one of these my next project. I restored an original Pac Man cocktail machine but only having one game gets old.
If you're getting a Pi 4, look up the RickDangerous Pure Edition image (won't link it but you'll be able to google it easily). When it comes to folks new to RetroPie, roms can be hit or miss and there's a whole lot of tweaking to be done to get the emulation to work right, but with that image he's basically done all the work for you. If you can wait, he's working on a new version to be released in a couple weeks that has been thoroughly tested and has almost any game you can think of. It will require about 500GB worth of storage, so plan to get either a suitable large SD card or SSD + USB3 adapter.
There is an earlier 400GB version that he released a couple months back that I've been using in the meantime and it's very high quality. Highly recommended.

Awesome, thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely check that out. Going to do that right now. 👍

A lot of games had buttons on both sides of the joystick, offering the player the option. I played Cyberball 2072 Tournament right handed, using the left.button with my left hand. That game was hugely popular in the early 90s in college, with numerous tournaments.every month. I would switch to left handed against inferior players to make it a better match, but I was one of the best when right handed.
I have had this company's "Solo" model which is a single joystick and buttons setup, with no trackball, and it their products are quality, built like arcade quality stuff. It came with PC/USB hookup (and is old enough to have come with PC mouse connector-PS/2 , and later bought a connector/adapter set for the PS4. It is great to play all the old arcade games on this.
FYI: I started the checkout process but was hesitant because of the high shipping cost. 24 Hours later, I was sent a 10% off coupon to finish the order.

I think many, if not most of the arcade game consoles in the 70's and 80's had this configuration….joystick on left…..buttons on right. (with examples such as Space invaders, Galaga, Donkey Kong….if my memory is correct. A few had the joystick in middle with buttons on either side…but I think this was more the exception. They are trying to recreate the feel of these old arcade games. The quality of the joystick and buttons feel similar as well to those found on these old arcade games (at least on my Solo). Unlike the person who posted the prior comment, I find the flipper buttons on the side fairly comfortable to use. On a PC, it worked very well to make playing arcade pinball games much more enjoyable. I was unable to map the PS4 pinball games I tried to these side buttons, however, so had to use the assigned buttons on top.
