Played a bit of the game. Great game and brings you back to the old school style of play. It will keep dropping over time if you can wait just like all other RE games. Trauma pack should be free IMO for what it gives you.
Not spoiling, but the game is not even close to as good as RE7 Biohazard. Marketing material is kinda misleading, character development of antagonist(s) is very weak. And oh boy is the overall story/writing a nightmare, also some lag issues at times. If you're an RE fan, you're going to play it regardless, but if you choose to skip it, the entire story can be summed up in like 2 sentences. After the first major chapter, the content takes a nosedive, picks up again in the second to last chapter but is grindy/annoying enemy spam.
Verdict? Wait for it to go on sale further if youre not overly concerned about possible spoilers. If you are new to the RE franchise, dont start here. Start with 7 for modern RE and see if you like it, and if you do, lower your expectations for RE8 a LOT.
8-10 hour game, and probably not a game anyone will have in their top 5 RE games to replay.

6/10 IMO (not fake IGN scoring metric though)
doing a quick A/B comparison I think the enemy variety is much better than RE7 plus the visuals and environments and weapons are much better . I would say both do some things better than the other but i didnt think there is an overall winner. they are both really good imo. RE7 does have more value if you grab the gold edition due to the additional content but I would expect RE8 to get there at some point in the future with dlcs and stuff. I would recommend both or just get the cheaper one (RE7) if you're new to the series and start with that.
Does the standard edition come with re:verse? It doesn't mention it in the info, but the Deluxe edition mentions it. Not that I care too much for it, but it'd be nice to play once or twice.
Finished this one tonight and while the story is as stupid as ever (not that I care), the game is everything I'd want from RE and might even be my new favorite. Quality of life changes and satisfying combat, with just the right balance of puzzle-y aspects sewn in; love it. It's far from a masterpiece and won't change most people's minds on their favorite, but for me the atmosphere and improved iteration on the formula were excellent.

I took the plunge yesterday on Standard because I really wanted to play and RE:Verse also got added to my steam library. It's not out yet though, but it's definitely in my library.

Okay yeah I think you're right For some reason I thought it was only included in the deluxe. My bad . Thanks for correcting me

Ask for a price adjustment. They've done it with me before.
