It doesn't require a monthly subscription for regular use, but if you want to use it with IFTTT, then you need the subscription. I've been using it with Amazon key delivery for almost 2 years now without getting any subscriptions.

Nope.

Yes you can. Thats how mine is set up.

It talks to their MyQ app and has a history of the doore opening/closing and you can setup apps to notify you if the door is open for X minutes.

I know cause I left it set up that way after it couldn't connect to my brand new Genie garage door motor. If you want it as just a sensor you can do the entire install and just skip the part where it connects to the garage door motor.

I have an older (2014) Linear opener at our home. I was hoping to snag a Slickdeal on a belt-driven opener with a battery backup... but I've been unsuccessful thus far. I bought the MyQ hub at Walmart for $15 on clearance over a year ago, it's been working perfectly ever since. The only "problem" I had was solved by moving the sensor lower on the door.

Note that this is not the current version. Their current model is MYQ-G0401.
It's funny they have to state the phone sold separately.
This makes no sense. If it was still happening without the MyQ installed, then the MyQ wasn't your issue…

You could wait for the new one to go on sale again but I've had this one for a few years with no issues. Even added a sensor for a second door.

Awesome product. I like the alarm and flashing lights that goes off to warn ppl nearby the door is about to close. Highly recommend it. Never had a problem with the device going offline

I could not find any functional difference. Just better packaging and slightly smaller. Also white instead of black color.

Ditto on this. No issues for years and added another door sensor as well.
I like that you can set an auto close schedule times so you never have to worry about someone accidentally leaving it open all night.

I only wish the MyQ Yale-Liftmaster keypad front door locks would go on sale

I just installed 1 WiFi chamberlain garage door opener. My family has been using the app. Is there any reason we need this hub? Any benefit? (Serious respond only please)

If yours is built in to the unit, this is for those of us who don't have it built into the garage door unit.
