Not a bad game but this game is the beginning of a huge departure for the series.

Earlier entries focused almost entirely on doing detective work (finding clues, interviewing subjects, and making deductions or inferences).

However, this game made Sherlock a younger, hipper character and put a lot of dumb action/chase scenes to play trying to appeal to a broader audience.

That said, if you play this for a buck (worth it) and you end up liking it, I HIGHLY recommend picking up Crimes and Punishments (the game before Devil's Daughter). It's on PC and PS4 and it's the best in the series by far and makes detective work in LA Noire look like Blue's Clues.

Crime and Punishments was so good! Devils Daughter is definitely worth a buck, though I agree with you it's not as good as CaP. Looking forward to Sherlock Chapter 1 coming this year hopefully.

After watching the trailer for Chapter 1 I feel like Frogwares is really doubling down on appealing to broader audiences. Now there's even gunplay and combat?! Devil's Daughter still had some good cases and Chapter 1 probably will too but I'm honestly skeptical about it.

$30 for a seven year old game- is that high? Seems high.

Let's be honest, the best part of LA Noire was the setting, not the gameplay. A faithfully recreated open world version of 1940s Los Angeles filled with faithful recreations of contemporary vehicles? Friggin' AMAZING. I'd love more games that were just open world versions of real life times/locations to explore.

Just as a heads up, Crimes and Punishments was free at the Epic Game Store on 4/9/2020, so you may already have it.

Same here... I remember I actually got it free (on Steam) during some promo for WD_Black external drives.
