No, any kind of smart charger will not work for electrolysis, because the charger wont enable it's output without detecting a battery. Instead, just get one of those metal caged 12 power supplies. Then monitor the current and adjust the electrolyte for more or less current.

Unbiased, honest end-user opinions hold higher value than covert employees looking to use slickdeals forums as a marketing tool. If the poster has an ulterior motive, he/she should just be honest about the relationship and answer any questions truthfully.
Even when unplugged, lead acid batteries can still discharge over long periods of time when not used.

I have one from a previous deal. Works well enough to keep the car battery charged when left unused for long periods of time. Can't comment on how well the "repair" functions.
Mine seems to work well enough for our cars/trucks and smaller stuff like ATVs and mowers. Does have a fan if that's an issue for anyone, but it's pretty quiet.

I bought this from a previous deal and it works in keeping the battery in a car that we don't drive charged. I saw (in this thread) that it has a fan. While it's in my garage, I haven't heard a thing. I would recommend this.

I got a charger very similar to this one. The one major gripe I had was that the clips don't have any teeth to grip onto the battery terminals and easily snap off, especially if you have a battery with side terminals.
i thought Battery Maintainer were supposed to plug into the cigar lighter? i mean if you are going to connect to the battery terminal, what's stopping you from just unplug the battery altogether?
