I got mine for a out $120 less when Best buy had a sale.

I have a busier neighborhood so it triggers the 2 street cameras a lot and I don't get a full year out of those without recharging.

There are better cams, but I just wanted an easy camera system and a good app. And I wanted it simple.

I do regret not going solar for them... I've just gotten into a bit more solar for things like motion detection spotlights, and love them. But I know very little about it lol.

Keep an eye out for sales. The full price is steep, but it was worth it to me when I got it discounted. I probably wouldn't have bought it at the price Amazon lists. But when best buy had a sale, I jumped on immediately lol.

Also, they make 180day battery life versions that are less $ but the 365 day battery versions on sale weren't much more than the 180 day version at the time.
If you car about security and want 24/7 surveillance. Go with poe with an NVR yes it's expensive and it's a bit of a hassle to do the wires but after that you can be sure you don't miss anything
I have three of them bought around March. I like the function of setting motion detecting area, which reduce tons of false alarm.

Not sure why people are so paranoid about these cameras being tracked. The NSA already tracks ALL your data - but you're good with that cause Freedom. Anyone with a little bit of skill can probably hack any "expensive" consumer cameras if they wanted to and there's nothing you can do about it. And it's only expensive cause you're poor. But oh no the only one media I watch warned me of them foreignemies. They scare me cause they can actually produce a cost effective product shipped globally and spy one me while they're at it. That's like two birds with... I don't want to lose my god ordained privileges and actually have come up with solutions and be competitive. If we all just voted for the person that tells me its going to be ok, we will be great again. Yeah, I want to be great again!

Hello Natka

tell a little more about your setup with Ispy? Any issue setting up with your PC at home or laptop?.. Does it go straight video to a Hard drive or do you use a cloud?
I have it up for live streaming when I use my PC. It is set to alert (sound) and record video to PC's hard drive when motion is detected. Setting up this camera with iSpy is fairly straightforward.

LMAO . totally agree. its comical the things people on this board fears...
1. Floor plans from their robots...
2. Videos of their backyard from cameras...
3. power usage data from their smart power switches....

I can understand people being ignorant due to their lack of knowledge... but their failure to apply common sense is ridiculous!

Wish I understood 1\4 of the lingo; that said, I want one for inside. Reviews on Amazon say OK for that - thoughts?

I don't care about recording, etc; more interested in live viewing throughout the day.

T y for any input.
For live view only this is perfect and easy to set up. Only downside, as an indoor camera, it's not sleek.

This gets into some pretty standard network security stuff. For security cameras in general and when using a dedicated NVR or software NVR, you want to isolate from your regular network as much as possible. Ideally the cameras and NVR should be on a separate network, with just the NVR connected to your router for the live-view functionality and so on. Thus cameras can't exploit your network or be used as entry points.

A good firewall and some attention to detail can also help protect you; you can configure to get alerts for unusual activity across your network or even just across your security-cam network (depends on where you locate the firewall), and will let you set rules blocking traffic if you do see anything questionable.
Word. Set up another router if you are thst concerned and even vpn the router if you'd like to. But yeah I doubt isp knows much at all.

Great... thanks... Since I have to run power, a data wire is not an issue. We have two cameras, but the technology is old and needing more cameras, may as well update everything. I have been putting this off for awhile because of the learning curve and confusion.

Any particular software that is better or worse? Is it possible to get completely away from the proprietary software included with various manufactures and use just one for all? I presume each camera type would have to have the common output capability/type to function together.

Thanks again...

Something like that I would reccomend. Just update it all

Actually I do not agree: Tang is an American drink mix brand that was formulated by General Foods Corporation food scientist William A. Mitchell in 1957, and first marketed in powdered form in 1959.

For god sake, no one needs your video feed... Don't be paranoid. Your isp is stupid.
It's not stupid. Wanscam is the brand of camera I had that was exploited because they hard coded the admin password.

I would definitely avoid this brand.

Fantastic camera for capturing every flying bug that crosses the field of view, especially at night, despite minimum sensitivity and limited motion detection area assigned.

If you care about expense and hassle, go wireless.
