I speak from the perspective of an severely abused Walmart brickseek user.

Limited stock means 0. 2-4 means 0 in stock. 6+ also means 0 in stock

Likewise. $47 here too. Last one so I bought it. It's still a good deal but was certainly hoping for $25

Just purchased one at the local WM. Brickseek showed 4 in stock, but only found one. I just ordered a dual channel Tablo OTA DVR and this will make a great storage device for it. Thanks to the OP!

This is my first post. I'm stating that since this deal has panned out for me (sort of) and so I'll spread the word.

TLDR - LV 89031 Walmart has 3 or 4 more SanDisk 500s as of this morning. Visually verified.

I went to my local Walmart in LV (89130) to try to grab this deal on Sunday morning based on the availability reported by Brickseek. The drive was not available behind the glass; however, it was available behind the electronics counter, caged. The employee was helpful to pull out the SanDisk 500, SanDisk 1TB, and several WD My Books (4, 6, 8TB), which were then all scanned. I asked for the SanDisk 1TB and WDs based on other SlickDeals posts, so I wanted to see if there was a deal. They had at least 4 or 5 SanDisk 500s that scanned at $33.82 each. The SanDisk 1TB was still $169 (or so, can't remember) which was not the deal others have seen - but this was as expected from my Brickseek review. The WD MB 4TB and 8TB were also still listed as full-price; however, the 6TB was listing at $63.07.

So I pulled the trigger on the SanDisk 500 and the WD MB 6TB. Each box was in pristine condition - no dents, unbroken tape.

I finally had a chance last night to unbox and see that the contents looked untouched. I was happy to find that the SanDisk 500 was in new condition. Using CrystalDisk, I verified that the drive had 0 hours and issues, but 4 powerons. Unfortunately, the same could NOT be said about the WD MB 6TB. For the WD, the drive would not initialize in either my Win10 or Linux boxes. Using CrystalDisk, it populated a model number of a WD 250GB drive. Haha. OK. I could also see that this drive had over 400 powerons and I think 7,000 hours on it already! A recent datahoarder reddit comments on similar experiences. So I boxed up the WD MB and held off returning it until this morning.

I've never done a return at Walmart before, but was surprised to find the process was easy. My wife advised to keep it simple because the employee won't care about the details, but my nature is to over-explain unnecessarily, which I did. The employee could not care less and refunded my money.

But, now that I had my $63 back, I decided to run back to the electronics booth to see about getting more SanDisk 500s. I saw that this location (89031) STILL had 3 or 4 SanDisk 500s available, but I had a change of heart and decided NOT to get them because I didn't want to be greedy - unlike the a-hole who likely shucked the 6TB drive out of the My Book and left some poor fool (such as myself) to get all excited only to find out he got duped with an expensive 250GB external hard drive. Hahaha.

If anyone cares, I was very tempted to do a full forensic work up of the drive to see if I could hunt down the original owner and call them out. But, that's just petty, a waste of time, and petty. Emphasis added on petty. But seriously, don't be a-holes and pass on your crap, people. Selfishness is ruining it for the rest of us.
Some folks here will claim it's their right to buy every last one of an item if they want. OK, that may be true. However, that doesn't necessarily make it the right thing to do. The nearby Walmart had five 1TB and six 500GB drives in the cage. I bought two of the 1TB and left the rest for other people. Good on you for letting others have shot at this deal too.

Don't ever let Walmart reps scan on their handhelds. Make them scan it at the register. The handheld always shows the website prices.
I wish I knew that back when I kept checking prices for the 1Up games that were supposed to be on clearance. Although I doubt I would have gone through the trouble of taking them to the register, but I just wouldn't have bothered checking at all.

Was in the area of wm and went to check, cashier literally scrolled up the page and pointed to "not available for pick up". Thanks guy.

It wasn't even to the store we were in. And plenty of items aren't available for pick up for nonsensical reasons, doesn't mean there isn't stock.

Brickseek showed 3-4 of 500gb and 1TB at my Walmart. Found 2 1TB on the shelf, both scanned at full price. Was worth a shot

Renton Washington just outside Seattle

All the deals on brickseek are usually pretty accurate for that location for some reason.

Walmart tags that as a supercenter I'm not sure if that makes any difference but I've had pretty good luck in that location for everything

Happy hunting!
Renton Walmart ASSociates are notorious for not wanting to help. I drove all the way from Lynnwood there once only for them to insist the item was not available for pickup when I showed them that on their web site (walmart.com) said it was and at that location with the address listed and showing as in-stock.

I don't know what the hiring process is at Walmart, but I imagine they simply ask "count from 1 to 4". If you answer "1 2 8" you're hired!
