I'd go with the Kamado Joe Jr on sale from Atlanta Grill Company. $349 with a free ash basket and slightly larger cooking area. Free shipping and no tax.

I don't get it. It has a stand and side tables like a standard or large sized kamado, so it's not at all portable. But it's slightly smaller than even a KJ Jr., whose utility is limited as is because of its size. This seems like the worst of all worlds. I would certainly get the KJ over this if I was going to get either, but just make sure you realize how small they both are before buying either one.

you could try, but i think the ants would fall through the grates... better to go with a solid surface for grilling ants.
