I get the concern, but everything, EVERYTHING connected to the internet is hackable and prone to bugs or glitches. I agree that Eufy needs to own up to their mistake and better protect their customer's privacy, but you're in the same boat with Ring, Wyze, Arlo or any other product. Don't jump on the "throw it in the trash" bandwagon or you might as well not own any IoT device.
My Opinion... People should hold off on purchasing Eufy products until Eufy is able to prove they are serious about Privacy and Security.
I loved my eufy cameras.... And then this... The biggest issue is I have multiple products from them and have read different articles telling me to log in and out, and unplug the cameras...
BUT I have had zero communication from anker about this.... Makes me so so upset
I personally experienced this incident this morning myself, I can't see my own device, but I was able to fully access everything (including the recorded footage) and someone's entire eufy line devices on my own phone just seem that they were mine(but they are not). That was crazy. I immediately tried to unplug my own camera, but my door bell is hard wired, I had to leave and don't have the time to do all that, but knowing someone else could be watching my footage, that's a very yucky feeling...called eufy, they simply said it was a mistake, if I reboot the system, it will be fine...very disappointed
I wish they inform those customers who were infected. Just put another cam in the living room and now so scared someone accessed my account in this breach!

If your patio door has a deadbolt it would.
I would recommend holding out for a better price with the fingerprint feature as it is quite nice and reliable.
