Make sure you TRULY cancel it at the end. My last CSR said so, but actually did nothing. I got auto-charge for several month before caught it.

This guy gets it, the audio is horrible.

If you know your radio id# you can just put in fake info and get it that way, I've had free Sirius in my work car for almost 3 years now lol. A whole bunch of whole foods stores are getting spam mail from Sirius because of me.
Dont you still need a valid card #?

Terrible sound quality, and I am hardly ever in my car for more than 10 minutes. PASS

With their constant solicitation calls, emails, letters, and ads in my vehicle for a very poor quality radio service, I'll pass, even when free.

The bitrate is about 64 kbps for music and 32 kbps for talk on Sirius.
The bitrate on Spotify HIFI/Tidal Masters is 320 kbps CD quality for lossless audio.

Use an app, connect a cable, and ditch the garbage audio of Sirius. (FM radio is 96 kbps)

The bitrate is probably somewhere between 24–48 kbps depending if the AAC variant is based on v1 or v2 of the HE codec. The sample rate of the played back audio is likely 32 kHz or 44.1 kHz which will yield 16–22 kHz of audio bandwidth.
I agree however for people living in rural areas with spotty reception, this is the only viable option: having line of sight satellite

Always great when someone knows their stuff and explains it well. Helpful and appreciated.

Sirius honestly sucks. Lose signal in certain areas and even small buildings.

Spotify allows offline streaming. Download and play when out of service areas. I flew 10 hours while offline listening to podcasts.

Sirius is great if you play through their app in the car. My car has Sirius built in, but it also has carplay, so I just open the Sirius app in carplay. I have the audio quality in the app set to maximum so it sounds dramatically better than the satellite signal.

I got a promo a while back so it's $5 a month. For that I think it's fair. I'll listen to NPR or a few stations just for songs that I wouldn't normally pick myself but you're right audio quality isn't anything great. For $5 it's worth it for me, but if they charge one red cent over that though and I'll cancel immediately.
