Run away unless you have 3 hours to cancel at the end. And that, my friend is if you are quick.
SO dramatic... I've never had a problem with cancelling in 5 mins or less.

I haven't used my XM radio in years. Is it still a nightmare to cancel? I think last time I had to talk to three people who were very rude to cancel.

I don't know. I admit it has been years, but last time I cancelled I had to go through three people who kept saying how great the service was and running through a long script. After that they were all kind of rude and very slow. Maybe it has improved, but based on the way it was even free was definitely not worth the hassle. Also, with android auto I feel like the value proposition has really dropped. If it was like $5 a month maybe. Is it just folks with older cars who still like this?

This is an old school trick, they have offered the free trials forever. I usually activate right before a road trip. My cats have all signed up for these trials.

If you ever do decide to give them money, I'd recommend a virtual credit card with a set limit. Or find XM gift cards at a WM or wherever. Getting them to cancel after the rate hike can be hit or miss.

I like the idea someone posted about saying you're selling the car, that might shut them up.

Don't use your car vin, use the radio id.

Also if you have been a recent subscriber, it may not work. The trial will not work back to back, but if you give it a couple months of cooldown it should work.

If you tell them you are selling the car they just try to sell you streaming only. I guess I am just more forceful with these things as I've never had an issue cancelling any service I've ever had. One time I told them that I was cancelling because I was going to prison for vehicular homicide for killing my only remaining family members, the police impounded my car, and I'm not allowed to have electronics in prison. Never seen a quicker cancellation processed. LMAO

How they stay afloat. Just get bankrupt already. The audio quality dies not even worth the free cost.
