This sounds interesting but not my kind of music, is there something like this for alternative rock?

been doing this "trial" since 2018. use a throwaway email and a phone number of someone you hate..
I have tried to get another 3 month trial after my first trial expired, but it seems once they have your vehicles license plate # on file there is NO WAY to get another trial. I have tried all the tricks...nothing works. The idea that someone can do this over and over again for 4 years is unbelievable.

With their constant solicitation calls, emails, letters, and ads in my vehicle for a very poor quality radio service, I'll pass, even when free.

The bitrate is about 64 kbps for music and 32 kbps for talk on Sirius.
The bitrate on Spotify HIFI/Tidal Masters is 320 kbps CD quality for lossless audio.

Use an app, connect a cable, and ditch the garbage audio of Sirius. (FM radio is 96 kbps)

The bitrate is probably somewhere between 24–48 kbps depending if the AAC variant is based on v1 or v2 of the HE codec. The sample rate of the played back audio is likely 32 kHz or 44.1 kHz which will yield 16–22 kHz of audio bandwidth.
Preach! If you opted for a vehicle with a premium factory radio you'll be doing your ears a disservice with Sirius. I've been on Apple Music through my phone without paying a cent through multiple Best Buy and Target accounts and the quality is good and customizable.

Please make sure to report back!
So, today I tried to do the reset.
1st I logged into my SiriusXM account and verified that I was no longer active.

Then I signed up for a new trial using the OP's link in Incognito mode.
Using a fake name, new address in another zip code, throw-away e-mail address, etc...
I also used the radio ID during the process.
I got the dreaded message saying that my 3-free month trial was over but I could sign up for the unbelievable savings of $22/month!

I moved to plan B and Googled Credit Union SiriusXM and came across a few links.

I tried one of the links but this time I used an address much further away (I opened up Google Maps and drilled down to a house in a far, far, away place and used that address - based upon the street view - I don't think those people subscribe to SiriusXM!). Instead of my Radio ID, this time, I changed it to my Vehicles VIN.

This time it worked, I got the notifications that my 3 month trial was activated and an e-mail saying to go turn on the vehicle and wait for the signal. I went out to the car, turned it on and sure enough it was working!

Thanks to the OP and especially to Josetann!

Yes, you have to wait until AFTER the trial is over. If you try to sign up while the trial is active, you'll be given the option to send a refresh signal, but not to start a new trial.

I use the link in this thread, and put in the VIN. It's worked every time except for one (I actually got the message saying I'd recently had a trial for one vehicle but not the other two, go figure). A quick google search showed a different three month trial (with a credit union I believe) that also didn't require a credit card to sign up. It was just the one time on one vehicle, I could have looked into it further but it hasn't been a recurring issue.

I personally try to make sure to sign up for a new trial as soon as the last one ran out (i.e. if the trial ends May 13, then I'd sign up the morning of May 14). Assuming the car's radio is off while the car is off (most likely) or you're parked in a garage that blocks the signal, the radio won't immediately get the shutoff signal. Sign up for a new trial before you head out that morning, and it'll never get the shutoff signal (because once the radio is on and gets the signal, they have stopped sending the shutoff signal and are instead sending a signal to start service). If you forget, it just means that you drive to work with the Preview channel instead of 90s on 9, and have to have the car on while you start the new trial (so it sees the signal to start service).
I had to go the Credit Union route for a new free 3-month trial (and use Car VIN vs Radio ID)...but I'm back up and working - Thanks again!!!

I canceled my service last week and went in today and signed up for three months for 1.27 (that includes tax) and will cancel when it expires again. I keep doing this over and over. It cost 5.08 for a year of music service + streaming. I hear everyone say it takes so long to cancel service. I an on and off the phone usually within a few minutes.

Just an fyi, I've never used the Radio ID. Partly because I'm too lazy to go out to the car and look it up; I already have the VIN numbers saved on my laptop, so I just use those.
I forgot the part, where you said to use the car VIN vs. Radio ID (I was just going on memory vs. reviewing what you wrote again before I started).

Yeah, maybe I should not have checked the account prior but I wanted to make sure my 1st trial was over. But as you said, I doubt they are that sophisticated to be tracking IP's.
If anything, I should have checked using my phone (with wi-fi disconnected so I'd get a random IP from my cell service).

...and yep, already on my calendar to rinse and repeat in 3 months (Aug 14th)!

Because it still works? I just activated 2 Turo rentals this month. Every car I've rented in the past year I've been able to revive their SiriusXM service. It's been awesome on trips.

Thanks. My radio id was not working for some reason but the vin worked.
I was concerned about have to pull out the radio to get the id. I don't want that hassle. It takes a long time to start getting familar with SirusXM. I used it for 3 months and I was just getting a little into at the end. I was just staring to find things that I wanted to listen to. The audio quality for music was weak in the car sometimes. I understand why they gave people a year with their car purchase to try to hook them. They over pay Howard but I don't know what they'll do without him? They have so much competition now with streaming music, podcasts, terrestrial radio, etc.

I've never been interested in this, but the grandkids insist I try it. But I'm not educated in anything tech related and have some really stupid questions that I was hoping someone would be kind enough to answer?
Do I need to nuy a receiver? Or does my car need to have sirious installed? We have an older car (2016 jeep)
I know it can be used on computer right? So a receiver might be all I need?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Took about 30 minutes for me to cancel last time. It is such a trashy / scam company.
