Just did a quick search and it seems these corrode even quicker than the normal Duracell batteries. No thanks!

It's a relative reference. If Duracell is an A Kirkland is B+. My basis is consumer report. They gave Duracell score of 89 and Kirkland 80. Great value but yes, leak is a problem. I actually am not familiar with Kirkland until Costco brought it up. Someone said they were equivalent to Duracell but I found the scores on a few reviews, consumer report being one more weighted than others as I'm a big fan of them.

I'm not really into the debate as I just get the gist of a brand. Kirkland might be exactly like Duracell as far as makeup but doesn't seem to garner the same experience from customers point of view.

Costco's CEO confirmed they're the same battery.

Won't let me add to cart for store pick up even though it shows a bunch in stock. Just this error. Is the deal dead?

Tried to purchase online, wouldn't work, tried to purchase and pickup at store, got an error code. Went into #6643, Anaheim Hills, CA. batteries rung up at regular price, went to CS, cashier didn't help, asked for manager, price adjusted! GREAT DEAL, five packs (2 AA's and 3 AAA's).

Confirmation bias could account for that score variance. If people expect the batteries to perform worse than Duracell, they are likely to be more negatively critical of perceived faults (shorter life, etc). Sounds silly, and user reviews are largely helpful things, but perception of longevity on set-it-and-forget-it products is notoriously unreliable unless a person keeps notes about installation date, usage frequency, etc (which most people don't).

Do these leak/corrode like regular Duracell batteries if left in a remote or other device for a couple years?
Duracell does seem to be the brand that has always "leaked" in my items if left in items many years. I will only buy Energizer for this reason. Its worth spending the extra money on the better battery so I do not have to worry. ALSO I prefer the "lithium"

doesnt mean they are the same. and you should know that. in fact, they cant even use the same formula for 2 different customers.

So they'd waste money on R&D when they can just apply a different label to the batteries? No. The simple answer is usually the correct one. There's no law prohibiting them selling the same formula to different buyers. They own the formula.
