I also bought this sander about a year ago and I like it as well. Worth it for the money. Dust collection on it is actually pretty nice with a shop vac.

However, I may recommend getting a disc/strip sander like this one [amazon.com] instead. I rarely used the belt on this but there were times I wished I had the strip sander to get into small crevices. I also got a Triton belt/spindle sander for Christmas and now I have 2 belt sanders. I don't want to deter you from this deal but if you're a woodworker and wondering if you might use the belt portion then that's another option to consider. 🙂

Sorry this isn't the same as the Walmart sander that was for clearance. This one seems more heavy duty and is 4.3 Amp vs the Walmart clearance one which was about 3amps

FWIW, I've owned this sander for about a year and I really like it. Other than the garbage miter slot/gauge, it feels pretty heavy duty for the price.

If price isn't an issue, absolutely. I would love to have a 12" disc sander but I just can't justify the cost yet when the 6" disc gets me by. It's arguably one of the more useful sanders for woodworking.

Somewhat related, during a Wood Whisperer live Q&A session somebody asked him which sanders he would have in his ideal shop. He said he would have a "huge" disc sander – like 24".

I have used the Harbor freight belt sander which is 3.5A and it bogged down pretty easily. Anybody have any experience on how much power this one has with 4.3A?

Probably an okay deal but not amazing. I got this same sander as a Ryobi branded BD4601G factory blem from direct tools outlet last year for $62.88 shipped. I couldn't find any blemishes.
