I see LG WM3900HBA | DLEX3900B electric washer and dryer combo on sale black color for 1499.99 plus taxes. It includes Free Delivery, Basic Installation and Haul Away Included in Most Areas* and worry free costco return policy.

Though its a discontinued model currently sold by costco, its pretty much same as 4000 model that's replaced 3900's.

Your laundry area will dictate which type of dryer you should use. If you have a gas hook-up, go with that. Electric needs 220V. Running either a new 220V or a gas line is expensive so go with whichever is in place.

What are the benefits of the pedestal? Other that raising the washer and dryer? Mine are already raised on a built wooden stand in our basement

Snagged a set based on all the info presented. Moving into a new house Monday and needed a new set. Apparently front loaders use less water and are septic friendly.

You would typically go with what your home has. I have electric connection and just for fun, I asked to get it retrofitted for gas, the investment and hassle of making my laundry room gas compatible wasn't worth it. Unless you are building a custom home, I don't think builders give you a choice even if you are buying a brand new house.

I have a Samsung, most annoying chime ever it's seriously like 45 seconds and you have to press the power button to shut it off. Also Samsung's service was horrid, filed a claim prior to warranty ending, had to wait over and hour to get a person scheduled, he didn't fix the issue, warranty expired in this time and they wouldn't cover the issue. I've had it ghetto rigged and sounds like I'm getting an LG. Have some family members with an LG they have no complaints, not that that is an indicator of them being good or not. I've struggled with them or speed queen as I've been told speedqueen without a doubt is the best (7yr parts and labor warranty), but who doesn't like the good looks and bells and whistles of the others. The speed queens just look so basic.
