This is a great deal, for comparison, the $800-100 model sells for $989 at best buy, $1100 at home depot. Same for the fancier models.

Bought the 404 the last time it went on sale for $759 (front page deal) after holding out for a Bosch forever. I have been extremely pleased with both the performance and the quietness. The 3rd rack is actually useful and takes a lot of cups and glasses, leaving valuable room for other items. Middle rack is also adjustable and allows for bigger pots and pans to fit into the bottom rack.

This is a new generation of Kitchenaid dishwashers, nothing like the crap they used to sell. I know this for a fact because this replaced a piece-of-junk Kitchenaid I previously had which was horrible every which way. I was very skeptical buying another KA dw but bit the bullet given the many favorable reviews. And ZERO regrets.

I've had this washer (black stainless) since January. Works great. 3rd rack is actually useful.

Long term durability is obviously unknown but its not an LG or Samsung.
Meaning that LG or Samsung don't have durability?
Honestly don't know but am about to throw out a (I think around $800) Maytag I bought just over two years ago that is garbage. (Of course now that the warranty is expired, they won't cover anything)
The "adjustable" top rack parts are plastic and even if you replace them, they break months later. Seal easily leaks.

Going for good quality durability for sure this time. Thought I'd check LG. But maybe not?

Check yale appliance blog for reviews/durability on dishwashers.

Bosch and Kitchenaid are on top last I checked.

I just bought the Samsung dishwasher from Costco: https://www.costco.com/samsung-to...85137.html
Should I cancel and get that one instead? It's $50 savings but I'm not sure if Kitchen Aid is better.
After my research, I'd only buy a kitchenaid or bosch dishwasher, not saying yours is bad.

Lots of complaints about their home appliances in general, though I can't say specifically about their washers.

FWIW, I got an LG side by side fridge in 2017. Thought it was strangely noisy when I first go it, but it seemed to quiet down after a few months. Only sort of a problem with it is the "door in door" feature. It's convenient to have, but the temperature in that section constantly fluctuates and I can't keep milk (unless it's lactose free) fresh in that section.

I've had my eye on this dishwasher for a while, and a Slickdeal alert going since March.

This is $300 less than Home Depot and Lowes. I have both of those where I live, but no Costco. Has anyone had success getting either of those to price match Costco's? I'm not a Costco member, but for the $60 membership fee, I'm still saving a decent amount of money if I join just for this dishwasher. But I'd love to price match locally if possible.
Best Buy priced matched Costco!

Are you able to get the 604 model for $829 from a Best Buy price match? Or just $979?

Yes, yes, and yes. I had Maytag and all of the above was broken and leaking. Threw it out and bought the KDPM604KPS model for $850 when it was on sale the last time. I'm happy with it so far. Much better. I recommend it.

Anyone try this? Lowe's will also take 10% off Costco's prices. According to the company's website, 'If you find a lower everyday price on an identical item at a local retail competitor, just bring us the competitor's current ad, and we'll beat their price by 10%.'

What's the difference between the $799 and $979 models listed here? Not obvious from looking at the specs...

Thanks OP. Ordered the KDFM404KPS for $749 with promo code $50 off $500 applied (unique code emailed to Costco email subscribers). I should be getting the $100 gc for using my Costco Citi Visa making it ~$649.

I was considering the $599 Kenmore 14573 or $699 LG LDFN4542S. Went with the KitchenAid because it felt better quality, has more reviews, and I also own another model KitchenAid myself for 7 years now and love it. This new one will be for my in-laws. I like that the third rack fits cups which is nice since other brands with a third rack only fit utensils.

I tried once to ask them to price match with HD on a disposer. It was not easy. Finally the manager agreed after quite some hassle but no way to get 10% off.
