For many rural customers or those visiting rural places this means a dead phone until you drive back to cell signal to reset the Wi-Fi Calling "timer" for a few additional hours of use even if you have private high speed wi-fi access at home. But wait there's more.
How consistent is locking out access to the network over Wi-Fi with T-Mob's sworn statement to regulators when they applied for the merger that the Mob is committed to improving access to service for rural customers?
The "It's your phone" scam:
The "Upgrade to T-Mob account" scam:
T-Mobile store near me refuses to accept bill payment for Sprint customers. The next store which is 45 minutes away tried to scam me last week as they have done in every prior visit. I'm already on the Mob's system running a Mob sim yet I "need to upgrade to T-Mob account if I want the premium service". Do they disclose that this account "upgrade" will triple my monthly bill for the exact same service? Hell no.
After paying three months in advance last week which in itself took 45 minutes due to their crappy point of sale software the phone won't work at the store. Then they proceeded to steal yet another two hours out of my life insisting that I would need replace my four month old Galaxy which I had already replaced under a prior "It's your phone" scam.
Hours upon hours of tedious time-wasting "trouble-shooting" ensue replacing sim cards re-setting the phone wiping out everything including pass codes is standard before they finally admit that "our system shows your payment on account but required our technicians to re-provision your phone from our end".
How many times has this happened in the past year? Twelve times!
T-Mobile sucks and they always have. More than incompetence the Mob is built from top down on a corporate culture of scamming and lying. The Mob has been caught selling service well exceeding system capacity especially in rural areas then lying to those same customers asserting "its your phone" and scamming them in to new phone purchase with contract.
