Lenovo is pushing all these crap 8gb ram laptops with soldered ram / non-upgradeable because they know it was a mistake making them. Some consumers buy up, especially those that expect this to be a 3-4 year throw-away computer, and with a redesigned Windows OS on the horizon you can be sure integrated memory for video is going to be that much more important, more frequently pulling against that 8gb of ram. I really want to buy a nice 15" computer at this price point for my daughter to use for the next 5 years to get her through the end of high school, even a 4500 would be great, but I know the 8gb ram is going to hold it back from what she wants to do with it over the next few years.

Zen 2, Vega igp, 1080p, 3.63lbs (according to google). Its cheap for a reason, you get what you pay for. Unless you need a budget laptop for like a kid, pass on this.
The screen is horrible - although "Full HD," it's a TN panel, with really bad colors, contrast, and viewing angles. Just say no to TN displays in laptops, especially at $500+.
It's too bad, because I have the Ryzen 5 version of this same laptop, with an IPS panel (and also 8GB of RAM, which is fine for most general uses). It's actually a superb lower-midrange laptop, but TN is a no go at this price.
I just called lenovo and they told me there was a additional slot for ram. But after watching the video it shows no extra ram slot. I wonder if this computer is the same one in the video?

specs listed in previous post say 16gb capacity. youtube videos I found on this stuff is similar model/specs at times and they poorly title the video to get more views thinking applies to you. I would trust specs sheet and csr(since they match) over some youtube vid.

Absolutely 100% positive - none of the models of the IdeaPad 5 15ARE05 have a RAM slot, it's soldered RAM only. You can confirm this yourself on the Lenovos support site, which has the service manuals.
