Maybe because I have just been turned to Slickdeals? And if I got a good deal from someone who took the time to research, at the very least I should let people know it works? Everyone starts off new at some point. Your comment is not helpful for newbies who also want to contribute.

Reviews look good. Legs are solid wood and not MDF. Got one in ivory for my lady's makeup desk. $164 after 9.25% tax.. Thanks OP!

I was going to put down your comment, but then I went to the HD site and all the reviews there are part of the "Home Depot Reviewer Program." This basically means that the reviews were placed as part of a "Home Depot promotion". Seems fishy for sure. I did buy one since we're trying to furnish a new house and this will be more of an accent piece than functional, and it looks like it will match the rest of the stuff in that room. I'll take the risk and report back. I'll be keeping an eye on HD stuff going forward for sure though.

Been on SD for years now...had the luck to have some stellar deals, so in that way SD is awesome...but even SD has to make money, hence more of these promoted deals lately. I fell for a HD deal last year on a bookshelf and how it was marketed as a wood shelf and that there was a huge discount(paid some 380$), read reviews etc, was skeptical but still bought it as it can be in a corner in my loft...turns out almost all the construction is MDF except for few wood pieces and it still outgases (smell), therefore as a frustrated SD'er, wrote my original comment thinking you were created to comment on this deal 😊.

Thanks for explaining. Let's see if this is a good deal then! I was going to buy something from IKEA that would have cost similarly to what I just purchased from HD. Hopefully it's not mostly MDF with few wood pieces.

I've purchased the Home Decorators collection items before and been very satisfied.
Honestly, after purchasing two different desks on Amazon around the same price range over the past year, and both being lost in transit from China, I'll be happy to have 1) a brand I have seen and used before 2) something already in the US and 3) a dang desk!! 😂
But really, it's a pretty good deal, and maybe I'll have it before the next pandemic.
