Here's a very good, in depth review of this exact Dell G15 5510 laptop.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaloTlgCguI

And here's a review of the Lenovo Legion 5 with the same RTX 3060 but at 130 watts, and a Ryzen 5800H

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU3l-zQk40I

In relative overall gaming performance, you get like 5% more gaming performance going from a i7-108750H with a 90 watt 3060 to a Ryzen 5800H with a 130 watt 3060, according to the review. Not really worth the added heat, and money in my opinion. The pure CPU bench scores are a bit higher though on the Ryzen G15. I'd definitely save the cash, and go with this much cheaper G15 intel model. Hope this helps!

The Ryzen version is like $245 more. I do hear it runs a lot hotter though too. But the Ryzen G15 does have a better 300 nit screen. I wouldn't say the Core i7-10870H is old. It came out in late 2020.

That's nuts.

The CPUs normally hit 95C at full power. What was your power and clock speed at that temperature?

EDIT: I just did a run with my 10750H and got a score of 8679 with only 6 cores @4.3 GHz... so you are running much slower.

EDIT2: 1248 in single core, so that's about the same.
Oops. I'm a noob. I stand corrected. I wasn't using high performance mode. (The F9/ G key) That kicks up the fans, and makes it run in performance mode. I'm not sure what the power is called you're talking about in Hwinfo. What exactly is it called? I'll look into it for ya asap. It looks like it was running at 3,992.2 Mhz max. The new scores for my G15 is

CPU (multi core) 9596
CPU (single core) 1226

Here's the HWinfo screenshot I took before the test was completed. Does this show the power you were talking about? What's it mean? lol

Ya, "CPU package power". It would do much better if you could UV. Like all laptops, your performance is limited by temperature/power... the clock speed is throttled to keep those under control.

You probably aren't interested in bios modding, but if anyone is, this might work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVAJVyF06Ro

And this is what I did to my MSI: https://www.techpowerup.com/forum...75.279412/

I was able to connect thunderbolt/usbc to displayport 1.4 on lg 1440p monitor @144hz using dedicated gtx 3060. G-sync also works. For those who is not sure whether thunderbolt is only wired to intel cpu onboard graphic.

For the past 2 weeks I've been having constant lag and frame drops with low gpu utilization with this laptop… no cpu/ram bottleneck. Worked fine a month ago. Kind of regret buying this cause I've tried so many things.
