I have a similar LG I just purchased a few months ago. I do see that the water dispenser doesn't offer ice only water. Just an FYI

Unless you absolutely need an external water dispenser on a refrigerator I would recommend avoiding them altogether. They are one of the biggest maintenance issues with refrigerators in terms of leaks, breakdowns and cleaning.

I agree. If I want ice, I just open the bottom freezer door and there it is. Water has a despenser just inside the left french door. I will never have a through the door set up again, many breakdown as you say.

People always say this. They also say don't get a pull-down faucet because they break. The thing is a filtered water/ice dispenser and a pull-down faucet are such huge quality of life boosts that frankly I don't think anyone should live without. Sure, it breaks a little more. But I'd hate to have the kitchen that doesn't have one.

I was an avid user of LG fridges in old house and in our new house.Both were the 30cf models. New fridge was a 2018 model and quit cooling after 7 mths. They never could fix and we went 5 mths without a working fridge dealing directly with LG repair services. Finally bought another maker and got on the Lawsuit against LG. Buyer of old house announced they had the 2017 model we left in sale of house break down and no cooling and are on 2nd compressor repair now from LG. LG does have better build quality than other makes but compressors and having someone in the area to work on LGs will leave something to be desired.
