It's the digital version of a board game from the 80s that I loved to play with friends as a kid. Like other digital versions of board games, they are much better with friends. If you like digital versions of board games you may like it. It is somewhat like a mini role playing game. You get a character with an ability or two, and build up your character with equient and by killing monsters, moving towards the center of the board where harder challenges (generally) occur till you get to the middle and start zapping people till you win or someone else gets to you. Moderate to heavy pvp.

Are these games any good? I can't tell from the meager number of reviews.

You are both correct. But Apple only has a "meager" 143 reviews 3.1 average.

Anyone know the difference between the 2 games? Is one multiplayer and the other is not?

guessing this is pretty much the typical mobile IAP fest full of card packs and expansions, in which case the game should be free.

I own the game on my PC and it's fun. But my friends found the game to lengthy. If you like board games you will find it worth the 99 cents. I think I paid $10 and was cool with the price.

I loved these games, 100s of hours into the Steam versions and maybe 40 on IOS, if you like simple board game mechanics it's worth it. Each character you choose to play as has different abilities that make each unique to play through; start with extra stats, re-roll once per turn, immune to certain things, ect. So there is some replayability, along with plenty of options to change the game play to your preference.
