This is a good deal if you want both items. Otherwise try to snag the 530s on sale for $300. The 530s go on sale so often that $300 should just be the regular price and why I won't post any more JBL deals. Anybody that buys the 530s for full price ($600) has failed an IQ test.

I bought these based on zreviews and these are great desktop speakers. Also bought 590s based on his reviews and haven't been disappointed by any of his suggestions

These speakers were disconnected for awhile until they started getting high demand for them. They were selling on ebay for $1000 a pair before they were brought back on production. They synergize fairly well with a warmer sounding amp. There is a lot of hype surrounding it, but I don't think you can find a better pair of speakers around $300.

Are you me? Did the same and ditched my sub to regain floor space, very few regrets. Have the center in a box waiting for a furniture upgrade.

Nice. I'm using a 580 on its side as a center to go along with my 590s. Not the most aesthetic looking with a tower on its side but works very well

I bought a pair of these around BF for my new 5.1 setup ($300). I absolutely love them. They sound fantastic for the price. I don't think you'll find anything that beats them for the dollar.

This series was designed by JBL's top engineer before he was let go by the company (Samsung bought them out). Really solid speakers.

They're only good for the sale price these days. That's an old video. Watch his newer stuff he's reviewed the whole lineup and has very specific recommendations.

Well I'm not sure how time would change that opinion especially since someone just posted it again and even said "is all you need to know"!

If people want to believe that guy can tell them how good or bad something will sound to them more power to them, makes buying much much easier.

I would agree they are priced right when they get down to the $280 mark though.

Same. I just don't like the bright sound from tweeters/waveguide (Klipsch, JBL) After 15 minutes of listening I feel like I'm getting jabbed in the ear with a screw driver. Very bad listener fatigue.
