Well I'm not sure how time would change that opinion especially since someone just posted it again and even said "is all you need to know"!

If people want to believe that guy can tell them how good or bad something will sound to them more power to them, makes buying much much easier.

I would agree they are priced right when they get down to the $280 mark though.
Time changes that opinion because new products have been released and reviewed in the last 5 years... And people have different budgets. https://www.reddit.com/r/Zeos/ is aging a bit but still has some great info

There's a big difference between metal and fabric tweeters. Make sure you hear both before committing to one vs the other. A flat frequency response is much more important than a wider range. Midrange is often overlooked, but paramount for voices. Auto and parametric EQ can do wonders, but won't magically turn a horn into a soft dome tweeter.

I don't they think should call any speakers studio unless they are monitors, make it kind of confusing. What does the studio mean?

I think this design is based off of their higher end professional studio line.

From jbl....

Professional technology in a bookshelf loudspeaker.

The JBL® Studio 530 bookshelf loudspeaker brings professional-quality sound to the home experience. The Studio 530 takes the technology that JBL engineers developed for pro-audio loudspeakers and uses it to deliver accurate and powerful sound to your living room. And it's versatile: the Studio 530 can replay a left-channel signal, a right-channel signal or surround-sound channels. The Studio 530 features a 1-inch (25-millimeter) tweeter mounted on a glass-filled Bi-Radial® horn – the technology that JBL concert-sound systems use – to deliver concise, sustained high frequencies. A 5-1/4-inch (130-millimeter) PolyPlas™ cone with a Symmetrical Field Geometry™ (SFG) magnet assembly handles low frequencies.

basically. it's the design tech from their pro line used in all of the IMAX cinemas.

Well don't forget to add they were designed by that renowned "top engineer" and then you have that they "measure" very well to that sought after "flat frequency response"!

With all that going for them who needs to listen to them 1st, they have to sound awesome right!!!

Nah. The 530's measured pretty well on audio science review, so that was enough for me to take the plunge on the 590's when they dropped to 450/ea. That, and free return shipping if I didn't like them. I'm happy... But the real question is, "are you happy"?

Good. Sometimes if the sarcasm is too great, it can really be a cry for help. Like when that lady called the police to order a pizza, but insisted that they needed to visit with a pizza.... Well, nevermind. You get the jist. Cheers.

Same. I just don't like the bright sound from tweeters/waveguide (Klipsch, JBL) After 15 minutes of listening I feel like I'm getting jabbed in the ear with a screw driver. Very bad listener fatigue.
I used to have klipsch RF5 and I agree with you about the fatigue. But I replaced them with the jbl 590 and and calibrating I love the sound of the jbl. No fatigue at all.

Oh no, god forbid you apply science to audio.

Yeah even was mentioned in the review, don't point these at you unless your receiver has a good calibration and mic setup (or you DIY it). They can stab with treble if need be but when calibrated are quite gentle.

Or even worse when you believe(apply) it's COMPLETELY science to the point where you believe your own ears "DECEIVE" you over it! EEK!

That does have a big advantage though, you never have to audition(listen) anything!

I have the 590 for the front stage in my media room. 530 for the side surrounds. I am very pleased by the sound quality these speakers produce. One thing I note is sound imaging is really good. I am able to distinctly sense where the instruments and vocals are placed within a sound mix. For some context, I also own JBL LSR 305 for my desk top and again imaging is top notch. However I greatly prefer the 590s and 530s. For a brief period I ran the 530s as my mains and was super impressed except for the bass. I do have dual PSA XS30 subwoofers (dual opposed 15" woofers in a sealed enclosure) doing the bass duties and I crossed them at 80hz.
