If the deal comes with Slickdeals Rewards (Cashback), it's usually a bad deal.
This laptop is supposedly better than the recent Dell G15 10870h deal. It has a much better display (165Hz, 100% sRGB), higher powered 3060 (115w compared to 90W) and a more efficient processor.

If you got the Amex offer, then this costs about the same as that deal. Worth noting though, I was not able to apply any other coupons on top of it. Confirmed with the CS as well, no other discounts possible.
The other deal is this one with Intel CPU:
https://deals.dell.com/en-us/mpp/...etail/8z5o

With the STUDENT100 coupon, the price comes down to 1100 and stacking with Amex offer brings the total to $980+ tax.

The 165 Hz Panel is 100% sRGB Panel with 300 nits brightness and Dell product spec listed that as well. This is the same Display Dell is using in its Alienware m15 R4 with 10th Gen i7 and RTX 3060.
I wasn't able to understand what that other guy was trying to say. He claims that 165 Hz and 100% sRGB is just part of the equation but to back it up, he is saying that he has those 250 nits 45% NTSC panel displays and they were bad.....doesn't make any sense to me. If you choose those 250 nits 45% NTSC displays, they are going to be bad...but what that has to do with a 300-nits 100% sRGB display "is just part of the equation"...People here troll too much, especially when they are trying to show off their so called experience and knowledge.
Get into a debate with this guy one time over a Gigabyte gaming laptop and he's gotta try and hit back... my post is in no way an attempt to troll and am offering a personal perspective from previous experiences. I sincerely hope they've improved the screen, as raw Hz and sRGB aren't all that matter. That was my sole point. Build quality so the screen doesn't flex with minor pressure, viewing angle, gray-to-gray response time, and other (minor) considerations may be more important to me than others, so I'm trying to offer up my personal findings to illustrate what isn't always listed on the product page.

I want all of those things to be improved on this addition, but never said this one was guaranteed to fall short in those same areas. It's no doubt the screen is a great improvement over the 120Hz base model as multiple reviews have noted; and it looks quite good -- especially since they use this on the Alienware R5 Ryzen edition (144Hz and 300Hz are available on R4, sir). I'm just hoping it's not a pig with lipstick like the rest of the G15 line. I'm also aware of the price point in that you can't expect a Ferrari for the price of a Buick, so I just want the cost to reflect the appropriate quality. Gaming laptops, unfortunately, are so driven by hardware specs that they lack what I hope to use everyday -- hence my purchase of the Gigabyte Aero. Not everyone likes/dislikes what I do, but hopefully they now have more to consider after my post if they plan to use it for school, work, or anything else apart from gaming.

I am searching for the review, but I am sure there is a Youtuber which actually got both types of screens on different G15 and the 165Hz looked significantly better side by side in their review. I'll post the link as soon as I find it.
Thanks SuplexCity. I'm definitely not panning this deal, as it really looks like quite a bit of bang for the buck. I've seen lots of individual reviews but I haven't been able to find a side-by-side comparison. If you find it, I'd love to view it! Repped.

Value is determined from the overall config, this was the issue with the Tuf A15 when it launched. Excellent specs for a great price but really crappy screen.

Although, for this laptop, the screen has been noted by multiple reviews to be the same panels used on Alienware (165Hz). I ordered from a previous deal (G15 intel) with 120Hz screen, and it is a horrible panel.

Ok so for the people who keep asking here is the video card wattage, there are 2 versions of the intel one 5510 and the 5511, the student one mentioned is the 5510 witch have the 90w card is is considered the MAX-Q version, no dell doesn't have to post MAX-Q no more for the 30 series cards

Got mine today, great deal with AMEX. A bit chonky but really good battery life so far and fan noise is kept at a minimum (At the cost of higher temps, you can change the fan profile if that bothers you).

In case anyone is still wondering, the display is pretty good Smilie

You can't choose to upgrade to rgb-keyboard although some other configs I tried could
This one comes with the RGB backlit keyboard so you can change the backlighting to any color you want. Bottom of the product page mentions this and my unit from this deal came with it. You are stuck with the orange backlit keyboard on the Intel deal.

So how is this system compared to the asus laptops with 3060. Don't asus lcd screens have like 400 nits??? But no numeric keypad.
