It could be better, probably $575 or less is the sweet spot for 12.9" (model is almost 3 years old now, but mostly kept resale value because of WFH and students using them). Salute to OP for doing the heads up and letting us know about availability, but they sold the 11 inch model earlier in the year for $519.99 same capacity.

It is a normal price, but definitely not "usually in stock"

I bought one a couple days ago. Arrived today. Replacing my 1st gen 12.9 that worked fine mostly but battery was really aging. For those that don't know this comes with full one year warranty, new screen and back and a new battery. Extremely close in performance to the 12.9 2020 iPad.according to multiple google reviews. So was not interested in spending more on the 2020 version.

Looks brand new. Excellent response.

No regrets.

I bought the 2nd gen refurb from Apple last year ( I sorta remember $470 with edu discount ). Within a few days it developed a bad flicker so I sent it back ( I believe you have 14 days to return it for any reason ). The replacement was fine for 6 months, but now has 4 leds at the edge that dim intermittently - the dreaded stage light effect. Searching the internet there are claims this is due to Apple knocking a component loose during the battery replacement. The battery life is great and it works for what i needed it for, so I am basically happy.

You supposed to have 12 months warranty, can you send it to get fixed?

Oh the problem with the LEDs are intermittent, I'm sure it would work fine when at the repair depot. All I have to do is knock this iPad on the desk slightly and the LED's are OK - something a bit loose inside.

I think you can record a video of the failure and walk in to Apple Store and let them sort that out.
