Thanks for the deal. But these are only worth the price paid. Bought them and returned then. Sloppy rough action.

Yep, finger and palm pinchers when they jump a groove under pressure... I really dislike these, or any cheap similar.

Knipex Cobra pliers [menards.com] are expensive, but not too bad when on sale... and worth every dime.

Totally agree. Bought this set for this price about a year ago. Used them once and too sloppy with poor grip. Have since bought knipex pliers wrench and cobra pliers. Pricey but 100% worth the premium. Makes the job so much easier.

only looked cause I wasn't sure what "tongue and groove" pliers were.

too bad channel lock as a tm on the name and cause those are channel locks just like the 99% of channel lock pliers I've used in my lifetime that were not the channel lock brand

Channellock is the brand, tongue and groove is the style of pliers. Channellock is one of the best brands, and the brand name has become synonymous with tongue and groove pliers, but Channellock makes quite a few more products than just the tongue and groove pliers you are familiar with. The facial tissues sitting on my desk aren't Klenenex brand, but you better believe I refer to them as Kleenex.

The Irwin or Vise-Grip pliers aren't too bad. Definitely not Knipex in quality or price, but acceptable alternative IMHO.

Ended up jumping on this!

The video looked pretty cool. keeps the heads in parallel to prevent stripping the bolts and auto-adjusts instead of having to do that Goldilocks dance while you're upside down under the kitchen sink with dust falling in your eyes. :p

Once you have been spoiled with the Cobra, those newer Chinese copycats are the ones I loan out... Smilie

I know, I can be a tool snob, but I have used junk when I was poor to get the job done and drank siht coffee. For sure, those new Irwin's are better than their old slip joint. And no, I did not leave your down vote.

I have those. They are ... okay. I also have a pair of Knipex made Craftsman ones. Oddly enough, I use the Channellock ones the most.

I don't see downvotes in the web browser only SD app, but it doesn't really matter either way.

I'd buy the Irwin ones for extras to have around, but I do have Knipex for the pliers I use for work.

Yup! I bought a set and none of them would line up on the deepest tongue and groves. And on the t&g they did line up, they were so rough it was like they were full of small rocks. They went back to Lowe's. I like my Kobalt socket set but will never buy other Kobalt hand tools.

I picked them last week - $13 for three and the quality are not that bad at all. These are the pliers that I put in different work place as spare.
