These are actually pro studio monitor speakers, not a "bookshelf" speaker. It's a reboot of the classic JBL 4300 series from the '70s and '80s.

I think "bookshelf" and "pro studio" would be misnomers for both the L100 and the 4312G. They're large and don't belong on a bookshelf. And there's nothing preventing someone for buying these for home use.

You're right, there is no reason these could not be used at home, but most studio monitors have a different frequency balance compared to consumer models, which I believe was the point he was trying to make.

Spiritual successor to the studio line that gets posted so much. Nicer/more conventional styling.

Brick and mortar is the way to go for the HDI speakers. You'll definitely get 10% off minimum especially when purchased as a package with an amp.
