I have the Zero-G 35", love it, awesome for gaming, great for something where you need a lot of screen real estate. Love the curve. I do kind of miss my dual monitors, as related to my work I need multiple Word/PDFs/websites open and having 2 smaller monitors was more seamless in this regard.

Just get it. Initially, I saw it on sale, after I did my research, the sale was done and I had to wait for 2 months for the next sale. I got a second one for another computer, a MP monitor via target where they have the same prices as MP, got the redcard 5% and some amount of rebate. Doubt they have open box though.

If you're not a gamer, those specs shouldn't make any difference to you. Outside of gaming at 144hz and some better color due to quantum dot tech, I would say it's not worth the upgrade.

I currently have a 32" Samsung monitor but want either dual monitors or a 35" ultrawide, can anyone tell me how the 35" ultrawide compares to say 2 24" monitors for work (1080P ones)? no gaming here.

Have the 49. Love it. Like two QHDs side by side. For multitasking and excel etc it's excellent. For gaming it's very immersive but often the hud elements wind up way on the sides. Not a problem for halo reach but was for valheim.

I do have a large desk w plenty of room tho…. If I were going to do it over w high budget, I'd *consider* the UWqhd instead of DW, (I think that's the 43" same height just narrower) and then get a 4K or qhd next to it with matched heights

Edit: nope the 43 they have here is only 1200 lines not 1440. So id stick w the dwqhd. I got mine on sale for 800, so 600 is 25% off good deal

Also heads up you have to have a reasonably recent video card to drive the "5K" esp if you have a second as well. My only reference is a 3070, which obv has more than enough beef.

One cool feature of the 49" is you can split the screen and use two diff inputs.

I looked at the pros and cons quite a bit.

I prefer multiple monitors for non-gaming because the seamless transition for a single app/game is typically not a common requirement unlike gaming. So, the downsides of a single widescreen aren't compensated for. Even assuming flexible PBP/PIP capability, wide screens just aren't as easy to switch/set up as multiple monitors especially if you have multiple computers sharing the monitors.

Also if you don't get a wide enough screen that is at least twice the number of pixels as the separate monitors you use, you aren't going to get the equivalent of two full monitors. For 1080p this is easier but if you get to to 1440p, then some wide screens won't give you two full screens with same aspect ratio (have to be 5k or more in width) or they will have letterboxed screens with smaller real estate to keep the same aspect ratio.

There are cases where the widescreens work better. The obvious are gaming and videos where the main focus is center with an immersive peripheral vision.

The wide screen with a good curvature also works better as you go up in screen size even for multi-tasking. I would say anything more than 27 inch monitors is not ideal in multi-monitor configuration unless they are used as two totally independent monitors focusing on only one at a time with some chair swiveling between them (so not comparing two things between screens for example). The seamless curved wide screen works better as you go up in size. They will also occupy less physical space than two very big monitors.

In theory, they should all work with a USB-C port however there are some known compatibility issues between the Mac Mini and Dell monitors for example but not LG monitors. With Dell's implementation of USB-C, it can start waking up the Mac when the Mac goes to sleep so you land up with a continuous loop of wake up and sleep. So, it depends on the electronics.

No idea if MP monitors may have similar issues. I believe the MP panels are from Samsung and the electronics for many if not all are from Acer so you may want to google for specific issues with MP or Acer monitors with the Mac Mini. LG monitors would be a safer bet with no specific information for compatibility reasons.

I haven't read up on this in a while, but is it still true that monitors with freesync aren't ideal if you have an Nvidia card? Do I need to stick with a gsnyc capable monitor to pair with a 3070?

If the multiple screens are from the same computer, then a single wide screen or two side by side split screens for two inputs if that is possible with MP would be better with flexible real estate allotment for multiple screens.

If you want multiple computers (or independent GPUs) attached dual monitors will give more connection and switching convenience.

I can only speak to the 34 Dark Matter and the 49 inch..I have been watching vids and reading about them today because I might go from my 32 inch widescreen 1440p 60hz BenQ from 2014 to the 34 inch ultra wide.

In the monitor settings you first enable Freesync and then in the Nvidia control panel you select Gsysc and its that simple now. It could cause flickering I read which with tweaking you can mitigate mostly. All stuff I read and watched today.

For myself I am slightly hesitant about losing vertical screen space from my 16:9 32 inch but everybody seems to love these Ultra wides for gaming and at $299 sounds like a great time to try it. I will mount my 32 inch right next to it so I will still use it, as it will replace the 27inch on the mount.

Ive been using this as my daily driver for 2 years.. I love it. My complaints are the remote sucks for switching inputs. If you're like me I use it on two inputs depending on what I'm working on. For example, I have the Logitech Bluetooth mouse that I can swap keyboard and mouse from devices by selecting the number. I love that on this device I can use one side of the screen for one device and the other side for the other. However when I want full screen and swap from DP to HDMI the remote sucks. The menu sucks. Sometimes when selecting input it powers off. Sometimes when I change inputs the signal isn't sent and I have to power cycle the monitor.

I mounted this on the wall with a single arm wall mount bracket. The bracket held, the monitors own hardware bent. It just felt cheap.

I have this on two laptops and my Xbox, I game on my Xbox no issue. I'm happy with the device for working. I couldn't go back to two 27" monitors. I would buy it again, and I paid $899.

A few people on past threads have complained about the 35" model having dead/stuck pixels etc. Unfortunately, it seems like the odds of getting one of those may be high. I have no idea how many people return them because of problems versus those who return for some non-problem reason, but it seems risky if you have to pay return shipping.

I am a work from home software developer and use a 34" ultra wide (I think I'll be buying the 35" on this deal as my 34" just died) and a 27" sideways in portrait. I really like my setup as it is more like three monitors. The 34" is similar to two 20" square monitors (Google windows hot keys for easily switching windows left and right) and this works perfectly for my work. Also a big consideration of mine was on my computer I only have two HDMI outputs so I could only handle two monitors without buying a splitter. So the ultrawide gives you basically two monitors using one HDMI.
