Sorry, ima TC a bit. I've had several fire tablets. Never doing it again. The OS is just too annoying, and the parent controls stink. Maybe it's easier with the most recent ones, but trying to get playstore going to use google family controls didn't work for me. I have a Nexus 7 that is almost 8 years old and still works pretty well. On the other hand, I've got a drawerful of fire tablets HD8 and 7s that are much newer but never used anymore or are cracked. On the other hand, we've got Amazon echo dots that get used everyday and google (nest) home minis that live in the drawers with the fire tablets because they just didn't work as well.

When buying Amazon devices outside of Amazon, make sure you register it immediately to make sure it works. I had an issue where for whatever reason I could not sign into my Amazon account to register the tablet months after purchase. Amazon said contact the seller, HSN said contact Amazon. Just ended up putting Google Play on it.
