They also have the 3-pack of Eero 6 routers available for $226 with Prime Day savings [amazon.com].

Note that this is not the standard 3-pack which includes 1 router and 2 extenders (which have no wired backhaul), but 3 routers which each have two gigabit ethernet ports so you can have wired backhaul.

This is the cheapest price I've seen for these. Normal price is $350, and they're occasionally on sale for $279.

It does indeed have wired backhaul. The extenders are the ones that do not, but if you want additional wired nodes, just add additional routers. I currently have three of these, all on wired backhaul.
I have three of these and, overall, they work great. My main complaint is the subscription service, "Eero Secure." At first I thought it was just for additional security features that I would never use, but once my free trial expired, I learned that it also won't let you view your device bandwidth usage without it, which is really shitty of them. They have a Day, Week, and Month tab of the Activity screen, and you can only access the Week tab without a subscription.
I'm the same way. I have an old Nighthawk R7000 that I'm going to replace soon, likely with Eero. I moved into a bigger house and now priority is larger coverage and consistency, which Eero seems to meet those needs. I am very sure I don't fully utilize the security features/options on my nighthawk now, so I thought the subscription features you pay for on Eero wouldn't be missed. but THIS sounds like a feature I'd want. Wonder what else I'd be missing out on, cause there's no way in hell i'm paying monthly for anything. (if I wanted to pay monthly, i'd just rent equipment from my provider, which also ain't happening)

Here's what's included with eero Secure:
  • Advanced Security - protect all your devices from threats
  • Ad Blocking - Speed up the web by blocking ads
  • Content Filters - Block inappropriate content
  • Block & Allow Sites - Block or allow access to sites
  • Historical Data Usage - See daily, weekly, and monthly data usage
  • VIP Support - Get access to priority support
As you can see, the historical data usage is the outlier. The rest are security features which I really don't need since I do all that stuff at the device level (ad blocking browser extensions, for example).

That's good to know, thanks for the comment. The level of integration on these also means they're really well connected with the router. If you don't want their creepy snooping, are you kinda out of luck? If it was a device on your LAN, you can block it from internet access. But if it's your router, you don't really have any options.

Next thing you know they change the TOS and share your internet and anything connected to the router with the whole wide world. Sidewalk 2.0

Can this be added to an existing eero pro 6 system? Any limitations?

Wanna put in the basement next to fios line so I'm not killing one of my better access points down there.

Now this is even more tempting. Thanks for the heads up. $130 for a base and an extender (so only one ethernet). Vs $226 for 3 and have backhaul on all 3? that sounds better.

Thanks for summarizing. Content and site blocking may be something I need in the future though. I'm not letting my kids poke on the internet anytime soon (oldest is 4). But I can see a time when that'll have to be restricted. (though, at that point, they'll likely figure out ways to bypass it anyway)

Will be curious how this router allows end user to manage / monitor Amazon Sidewalk [siliconangle.com]
Starting June 8, 2021 many Amazon devices will automatically allow user's WIFI to be shared at a low band width with neighbors. User must "opt out" of Sidewalk (at a device level) if they prefer NOT to share bandwidth.

No wired backhaul. Subscription based security service.
That's not true. Just click on the link and look at the pics, each unit has two gigabit ports. And the subscription service is optional. They perform perfectly well without subscription.

Have my doubts. Eero has said in their subreddit that the worldwide chip shortage has affected production of the one they use in their Pro 6 line when asked why they haven't had any Pro sales lately.

Is it effective to use wired Ethernet backhaul via powerline adapters? Unfortunately my house isn't wired with Ethernet. I have used powerline adapters in the past and they worked ok (60 Mbps)

I already have the 3 pack (router and 2 extender). Can I add a second router? Does it work like another mesh extender?
