It does indeed have wired backhaul. The extenders are the ones that do not, but if you want additional wired nodes, just add additional routers. I currently have three of these, all on wired backhaul.
I have three of these and, overall, they work great. My main complaint is the subscription service, "Eero Secure." At first I thought it was just for additional security features that I would never use, but once my free trial expired, I learned that it also won't let you view your device bandwidth usage without it, which is really shitty of them. They have a Day, Week, and Month tab of the Activity screen, and you can only access the Week tab without a subscription.
I'm the same way. I have an old Nighthawk R7000 that I'm going to replace soon, likely with Eero. I moved into a bigger house and now priority is larger coverage and consistency, which Eero seems to meet those needs. I am very sure I don't fully utilize the security features/options on my nighthawk now, so I thought the subscription features you pay for on Eero wouldn't be missed. but THIS sounds like a feature I'd want. Wonder what else I'd be missing out on, cause there's no way in hell i'm paying monthly for anything. (if I wanted to pay monthly, i'd just rent equipment from my provider, which also ain't happening)
No wired backhaul. Subscription based security service.
All the standard security stuff is included with the router. They have added services like parental controls, reporting, and a third party VPN for more money. This completely works quite well and securely without a subscription.
Just installed the router + two extenders. I have 200 down and something up from isp.
I'm getting 140 down 30 up on speed test on phone where signal would not reach on a single Netgear and tp link router.
For wifi 6 mesh network, I think it's be hard to beat the price. I got it because I figured maybe the extenders would communicate over wifi 6 and therefore be better then a wifi 5 mesh. Not sure if that's accurate.
I'm not sure what applications you need more speed but I don't have any. I have like 40 devices connected, mostly smart light switches.
Crawling throguh the fine print they will automatically enroll you in some kind of Facebook information program and they say you have to send an email to be unsubscribed.
Not sure what if any other information sharing they do, but it's Amazon. On the other hand, I've got echos listening to everything I say anyway
I doubt they do price adjustment but I'll give it a shot.
and setup was very easy. it is simple like they say and the app feels good. probably not many super advanced settings but I haven't looked too far into that because I have no need.

What throughput are you seeing?
How many devices (iot etc) do you have online?
I have 68 devices, mostly things like lights, light switches, and Amazon Echos. I think my only actual WiFi 6 enabled device is my iPhone 11 Pro, which maxes out my bandwidth from my ISP (425 Mbps down, 25 up).
The whole idea behind wired backhaul is to connect to other mesh extenders via Ethernet so you can take full advantage of throughput without interference. Having only Ethernet ports on the back of the base does not mean it has wired backhaul, or that would be no different than any routers in the market.
Dude, I'm sending this message while using three of these routers on wired backhaul. Whichever one is plugged directly into the modem functions as the gateway and the others function as extenders. If you don't plug them into Ethernet, they work wirelessly. But if you plug them in to a gigabit Ethernet switch, as I have, then they automatically switch to wired backhaul extenders. There's an icon in the app that denotes whether they're working wirelessly or wired.

I don't like the Eero mesh systems they do not have wired back haul there's nothing better than wired unless you don't have any choice then I guess is good
Is this a good solution to extend internet into the backyard? Our connection in the home is fine but I'd love to connect way out into the yard.
CNET's review of the Eero system is extremely critical — seems that they're not particularly high on them. Curious about others' experiences, and what people would recommend if I'm just trying to extend my wifi into the yard.

If you have gigabit internet - this is probably the way to go

Different models have different use cases depending on that customers needs. The eero beacon has 350 Mb/s, the eero pro has 550 Mb/s, the eero 6 extender is 500Mb/s, the eero 6 router is 900 Mb/s and the eero 6 pro is 900 Mb/s."
