It does indeed have wired backhaul. The extenders are the ones that do not, but if you want additional wired nodes, just add additional routers. I currently have three of these, all on wired backhaul.

I have three of these and, overall, they work great. My main complaint is the subscription service, "Eero Secure." At first I thought it was just for additional security features that I would never use, but once my free trial expired, I learned that it also won't let you view your device bandwidth usage without it, which is really shitty of them. They have a Day, Week, and Month tab of the Activity screen, and you can only access the Week tab without a subscription.

I'm the same way. I have an old Nighthawk R7000 that I'm going to replace soon, likely with Eero. I moved into a bigger house and now priority is larger coverage and consistency, which Eero seems to meet those needs. I am very sure I don't fully utilize the security features/options on my nighthawk now, so I thought the subscription features you pay for on Eero wouldn't be missed. but THIS sounds like a feature I'd want. Wonder what else I'd be missing out on, cause there's no way in hell i'm paying monthly for anything. (if I wanted to pay monthly, i'd just rent equipment from my provider, which also ain't happening)

Excellent actionable information, thank you. Repped.

I am currently using a Netgear R7800 (Nighthawk X4S) router, with stock firmware that is always at least one firmware release prior to their current firmware version. It is at the far wall where fiber internet comes into the house. The house is 2200 sq feet. My Arlo Ultra 2 camera on the opposite side of the house (through two interior walls and one exterior, about 140 feet direct distance) often shows low wifi connection (as per the Arlo app, who knows what this actually means)

So, I thought maybe a mesh setup would improve the situation. In the past I played around with the AT&T version of the Asus AC68U router that was a common sighting on Slickdeals for $40 and had good results creating a mesh network, I had 3 of them going and got great speeds everywhere on the property, though I always suspected it was overkill. It seems from your comments that perhaps this is not necessary and with proper router settings my R7800 should do the job.

Do you have any links to webpages that describe how to configure a router for maximum range? You said " Learn how to adjust the spread and map where your signals are strongest." .. I used a phone app for this in the past, do you recommend a PC software or other method?

Thanks again!
Knowledge is power.
There are a lot of basic rules to how to set it up and then everyone has their barn of tricks. Reddit is a good source a lot of the time. I do not have any links because they really need to be particular to your router. Different companies use different technology to enhance the strengths of their product and hedge the weaknesses. What I usually do is I will save my current setup. I will try different scenarios & tweaks II run across and worst case I just go back to my original settings from backup.

Doesn't matter what you use to analyze your network as long as it's accurate. Smartphones have a tremendous amount of capability. The biggest pitfall is using an app from someone who designed the app just as a cash grab and it's not what it's described as being.

One thing stands out to me ... Why not place your router more centrally?

They also have the 3-pack of Eero 6 routers available for $226 with Prime Day savings [amazon.com].

Note that this is not the standard 3-pack which includes 1 router and 2 extenders (which have no wired backhaul), but 3 routers which each have two gigabit ethernet ports so you can have wired backhaul.

This is the cheapest price I've seen for these. Normal price is $350, and they're occasionally on sale for $279.
I need a router and an extender at one location, and just a router at another location. Will this bundle work for me? Not sure if it can be split up. TIA

Yes, it will work. A router can be used as either a router, a wired extender, or a wireless extender. An extender can only be used as a wireless extender.

I can't be the only one that doesn't want to keep inviting Amazon into my house. The data collection should concern people.

Got my router 3 pack yesterday, replaced a previous Pro gateway with one, setup the other two in the office & living room (hard wiring pc's and streaming devices), and re-purposed my previous 2 Pro units for the kitchen area & garage, so now I have full coverage all around the property. Connections are solid and very fast - no complaints so far (only been 16 hours).

Will be curious how this router allows end user to manage / monitor Amazon Sidewalk [siliconangle.com]
Starting June 8, 2021 many Amazon devices will automatically allow user's WIFI to be shared at a low band width with neighbors. User must "opt out" of Sidewalk (at a device level) if they prefer NOT to share bandwidth.
'Opt-Out' is BS. Kills the deal for me. Comcast does something similar, if you rent their router/modem. There's no way I am giving these creeps any control over my home network.

I have two nest wifi's. Both wired. I hate it. Don't use wire out from Nest wifi they don't go beyond 100mbps.

It shows $350, but if you have Prime, it says this underneath: "Prime Savings Your price at checkout is $226.00."

Thanks for summarizing. Content and site blocking may be something I need in the future though. I'm not letting my kids poke on the internet anytime soon (oldest is 4). But I can see a time when that'll have to be restricted. (though, at that point, they'll likely figure out ways to bypass it anyway)
I would save time and money by installing a pihole or adgaurd on the network, it will take care of most of the things listed.

I have been using it for over 2 years and love it. I am not a tech savvy person, there are so many videos on youtube that will help you get started.

There are also other free firewalls like PFSense and opensense that are way better than the security services offered by any of these mesh router companies.

Hope this helps. Feel free to PM me if you need help. I can send you the YouTube videos I followed to install piHole

FYI: This can be combined with the 20% trade-in offer (assuming you have an eligible router that you can trade in, and the promotion is activated in time) and some of the other Amazon offers to save $10 or $30 with an eligible credit card!

Buy the router/modem to save on costs, and Eero says they aren't adding Sidewalk (at least yet)

When I went to this page it has a Prime Day special for Discover card when you pay with points for 30% off, up to $30. Took the full $30 off in my cart and shows $196 as the total before tax.
