Cameras aren't that great. 10 seconds latency which means it starts recording too late

I own 5 cam and motion detection is just awful. The setting for a grey out zones is just doesn't work and peeks whatever is at the camera sight. Wont spot a dog shittin on your lawn only spots when it walks away.

Yikes. Are you sure it's not a function of good wifi connectivity?

Do they offer free storage? I have Arlo pro 2s and I heard new models force you to buy subscription.
Their Free Storage offer ended for accounts created after last year 4/15/20. Mine was created in June 2020, so I missed it. But if you have XT2, you still get free cloud storage no matter what purchase date. So I have free storage for my XT2s, but my Mini not. I don't want to pay for subscription, so I only receive notification and Live View from my Mini but no recording. Hope it helps.

Perfect. I have recently extended my fence where my dog gets out of sight of the current outdoor camera. Had this saved in my cart for Prime day and with my credits came
To about $39 shipped. Now I can keep an eye on Fido throughout the backyard

Are the new cameras better than the XT2?
The new ones are HD, I don't think the XT2 are. The news ones are.

I feel there is an issue with the discount? So they allow you to add up to 4 add on cameras which are $49.99 a $40 discount per camera you would think. But when adding the max limit and go to check out it only take $40 off which is only 1 camera discount. Why allow us to add up to 4 if only good for one. They will be issuing a lot of refunds to people that don't pay attention to the final price.

I have both Ring and Blink, just got the Blinks around Christmas, had Ring for years now. I generally like the Blink but with one exception that make them super annoying, with my Rings when I get a notification I can either use my phone or Apple Watch and temporarily silence notifications for half an hour to one hour which is amazing. Say someone is outside doing something and constantly triggering the cameras that feature is highly useful. For the Blink I would have to basically disarm them and then hope I remember to rearm them. Also Ring has a desktop app that will pop up the cameras in a screen if they are triggered or you can click on your cameras and see them on your desktop while you are using it. I use that feature a lot. My trial subscription for the Blink ran out recently and that somehow triggers double alerts on your phone or Apple Watch which was so annoying I just paid the $3 a month for now.

That's probably due to your wifi connection. I get only a 1-second wireless delay in my backyard. The Mini-cam option with wired connection is virtually instant. Compared to Arlo Pro 2, the Blink app also opens faster.

You can view it in the app but the minute your free 1 year subscription runs out the app goes to shit and it takes like 20 seconds just to load a clip. You really do lose a ton of basic functions when the sub runs out and also it doesn't auto format the USB like most dash cams will.

It looks like if you had a free plan before April 2020, you'll keep it and can keep adding cameras to it at no charge. Only new accounts get shafted.
can't get shafted unless you buy it.

No Google Home integration. That's a big yikes for me. The price does seem decent but I need Google to monitor me too.

You could just buy the 3 pack kit for $150 and a single additional unit for $50.

XT2 are HD as well. The new ones have small changes to the back, but are basically the same with a subscription. I bought the XT2's last summer (after the deadline) and they are grandfathered in with no subscription needed.
