Cameras aren't that great. 10 seconds latency which means it starts recording too late

I own 5 cam and motion detection is just awful. The setting for a grey out zones is just doesn't work and peeks whatever is at the camera sight. Wont spot a dog shittin on your lawn only spots when it walks away.

Yikes. Are you sure it's not a function of good wifi connectivity?

Any comparisons to Wyze cam. V3?
i don't care for both, because better options are available in MHO.

but if you have to select from one of them wyze is better.

Do they offer free storage? I have Arlo pro 2s and I heard new models force you to buy subscription.
No more free cloud storage. But the new Sync Module included records automatically to a USB key drive. Clips can be viewed from the app and transferred to your computer. They are missing a preview thumbnail compared to cloud storage. Cloud storage is currently $3 per device each month or $30 per year, or $100/year for unlimited devices.

XT2 are HD as well. The new ones have small changes to the back, but are basically the same with a subscription. I bought the XT2's last summer (after the deadline) and they are grandfathered in with no subscription needed.
Thanks for the clarification!

I bought these last prime day thinking I would have free cloud storage. I honestly regret buying these because the quality is iffy at best and something as small as cloud coverage triggers them during the day but at night I can walk around and it doesn't notice anything until I get very close. I have adjusted the settings with no luck. I refuse to pay $10 a month when I could have paid up and got the arlos and gladly pay that cloud storage for the same price.

Funny that you mentioned this. This is the EXACT use case for which I want to buy an outdoor camera - to catch whoever it is that's letting their dog do their business on my front lawn. Looks like I will be passing on this camera then. Thanks for the tip.

I have the original indoor base and original XT base free accounts and need to add 4 more cameras. Should I get just 4 addon cameras, or buy the new set to upgrade the base?

Is it worth getting the new Sync Module 2 with a bundle kit if I'm on the older system? Or does it offer no benefit since my account was a grandfathered one with free storage?

For the Blink I would have to basically disarm them and then hope I remember to rearm them.
FYI, I had the same issue and learned in the Blink forums that you can set up the system to re-arm on a schedule, so I set my system to re-arm at intervals throughout the day, so in case I turned it off, it would eventually turn back on. I did like 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 7pm. That way, even if I turned it off at 10:50, and it re-armed at 11, I would only have to turn it off once more, and it would be disarmed max til 1pm. Works great for me.

I second this. I have four cameras set up with motion detection, and it routinely misses cars pulling in and out of the driveway (directly in the main central view of the camera -- see attached screenshot), people walking by on the sidewalk, the trash truck pulling in front of our driveway, etc. Yet it constantly triggers when clouds show/hide the sun or when tiny bugs fly within view of the camera. I will look elsewhere for a system when it comes time to replace or upgrade. Motion detection is just not dependable for anything security-related.

[Update] Forgot to mention I worked with support for weeks troubleshooting, and even after replacing cameras a couple times and trying all kinds of different settings, I finally decided to just live with the problems and not buy any more. In other words, there is no quick fix for the undependable motion detection. I even got a replacement of a new Blink Outdoor camera to try, and it was no different.

I had active zone on my front lawn and all around was greyd out. Dog with owner walked on my lawn and walked like 10-12 feet. Took a dump and was walking away and camera start recording when dog was 3 feet away from a scene. I think it cause got closer to the camera. On the other hand it does record right away when truck moves 50 feet away on a street. Even tho it is a no active zone.

What camera brand and model would you suggest to catch a dog or other animal crapping on your lawn?

Thanks for the tip even though that seems super annoying. LOL
I like the Ring way, it works well, I can just tap a button on my Apple Watch and done. Also the Ring gives a screenshot of what set off the motion on my Watch too which is another nice feature.

I bought the $250 Costco deal and have no complaints so far. Only suggestion I have is to buy new mounts from Amazon(ones that cover the camera). This made mounting where I wanted them much easier.
