Cameras aren't that great. 10 seconds latency which means it starts recording too late

I own 5 cam and motion detection is just awful. The setting for a grey out zones is just doesn't work and peeks whatever is at the camera sight. Wont spot a dog shittin on your lawn only spots when it walks away.

Yikes. Are you sure it's not a function of good wifi connectivity?

i don't care for both, because better options are available in MHO.

but if you have to select from one of them wyze is better.

here is a full review

I've had both Blink and Wyze, this review is for a only indoor Wyze. They aren't for outside. They will go out, I've had like 3 go out, Yes they do have a outside version. I do NOT recommend a indoor Wyze camera for outside.

A really important thing to note that the battery life on these things is two years if you are monitoring the inside of a closet.

If you put this anywhere that has any action the battery life is measured in days or weeks.
Using the same batteries that came with my XT2s. Installed in August of 2019. All around the perimeter of the house. Front door, back door and driveway gets tons of action. In two months it will be two years on five cameras with the original batteries.

Without grandfathered cloud storage. Buy Google nest doorbell camera and get the subscription from them. Pricey but worth it

I can confirm as I put the cams on a separate wireless channel, there's still too much latency sometimes to catch some motion sensor triggered items.

Sadly this is accurate... I'm very disappointed with Blink and will be making the move to Wyze when those go on sale.
Must be something on your end because as others have stated they don't have this issue and I don't either.

I have both Ring and Blink, just got the Blinks around Christmas, had Ring for years now. I generally like the Blink but with one exception that make them super annoying, with my Rings when I get a notification I can either use my phone or Apple Watch and temporarily silence notifications for half an hour to one hour which is amazing. Say someone is outside doing something and constantly triggering the cameras that feature is highly useful. For the Blink I would have to basically disarm them and then hope I remember to rearm them. Also Ring has a desktop app that will pop up the cameras in a screen if they are triggered or you can click on your cameras and see them on your desktop while you are using it. I use that feature a lot. My trial subscription for the Blink ran out recently and that somehow triggers double alerts on your phone or Apple Watch which was so annoying I just paid the $3 a month for now.
Swipe left on notification on iPhone. Click Manage. Click Deliver Quietly.
Now it won't buzz you every time. You do not need to disarm. Repeat the process if you want to reenable.

The focus of the video was on Blink shortcomings in contrast to Wyze older camera. And Wyze v3 is a significance improvement over the old Wyze. With that in mind, it's clear what is best between the two (that is if no other alternative is available)

Do you need a subscription for this and/or cloud storage? I have no interest in paying extra fees so I wonder what I would be limited to?

What do you prefer over these options?
I prefer one that does render my device into a brink the moment I elect not to pay the extortion subscription fee.

Only one brand fit's the bill for me at this point - Eufy

Again this review is ONLY for the older version which won't last outside. It is only an indoor camera, it may be better then than Blink BUT the blink will last longer so any shortcomings from the blink, The blink will still be the better option in the long run.

All I'm saying is this old wyze do not use outside Wyze has better cameras now and I would only recommend the outside version for the outside.

How do you get grandfathered in? I bought before along time ago but I've never set up. Also, how much storage do you get?

I get maybe two seconds of latency. Much more than that, it is probably an internet issue or you dont have the sensitivity high enouh,

I've got tons of Ring and Wyze cans and everything in between. Never met a wireless camera that could hold a candle to a wired one: latency, responsiveness, etc. Never once no matter the brand.

I guess you are not reading what I posted . . .

. . . the blink sucks . . . so NO it will not be a "better option" . . . at any point in time, unless you travel back 2-5 years.
