I live in a Rural area of Louisiana and before I installed Blink cameras I had numerous items stolen from my property. I had a generator, wife's 10 speed bicycle, fishing equipment, both my boat batteries and a spare battery I had in my carport for the boat. I had someone climb the fence in my backyard and steal a tool box off my ATV that was locked in a shed. They stole a radio out of my wife's Ford Ranger truck and a few other misc. items
I got sick and tired of the thefts that me and my neighbors were suffering and our poor 2 person police force could not handle. I bought 5 Blink cameras and installed 2 in the front of my house, 2 in the rear and 1 at the road so it faced down my street towards my neighbors. Magically I haven't had a theft now in a year and half since I installed them.
My neighbor caught a man on her Blink camera stealing a dog out of her yard. He chased the little dog until he cornered it against the fence and was able to pick it up. Because of her camera which she only installed because of me, the police identified him and got the dog back as well as about $1500 worth of stolen goods they found at his house.
I caught a UPS driver throwing a package out of his truck towards my doorstep because he was too lazy to get out and set it down. He literally drove up into my driveway, my camera kicked on and caught him plain as day reaching behind his seat and picking up my package and then throwing it out his door as hard as he could so it thumped and landed against my front door. Needless to say UPS took my complaint and video and a week later a Regional manager showed up at my house to apologize in person and they offered me $250 in free shipping credits as a token of good faith. I was shocked they sent a manager out, but it would never have happened if I hadn't had these cameras.
My wife enjoys watching the night videos that it records of the possums and racoons running around our property. She gets the biggest thrill out of them. We have a squirrel that likes to sit right in front of the camera out by the road and he will eat pecans out of our tree only a couple feet away from the camera. So not only do they protect my home but they bring my wife and her friends great joy in spying on the critters.
So gripe all you want about a little delay but for a couple hundred bucks I cover every inch of my property and they are super easy to install and set up. Took me a total of 10 minutes to mount all 5 with my cordless drill. It took us much longer just sitting there deciding on where to mount them for maximum effect. Batteries last me about 6 months as we have lots of critters and dogs that trigger them very often and I run all my cameras on near max settings. Doesn't bother us as a 24 pack of Energizer lithium batteries is like $29 at my Sams Club and that lasts me an entire year, maybe a bit more for 5 cameras. If you run your cameras on less sensitivity or don't have a couple dogs and cats like we do, then your going to get a lot more life from the batteries.
but if you have to select from one of them wyze is better.
