Car tires have much more volume of air so the psi can be lower to hold up the weight of the vehicle. A road bike tire/tube has a small small fraction of that. There is some good math behind all this but to simplify greatly: think of the air in your tire as a spring, for every square inch of air in the tire between the bike and the ground that "spring" needs to support all the weight. If you and the bike together weigh 200 lbs and the air in the tire that is vertically compressing is 2 square inches... then that air needs to be 100 psi in order to not deform (run flat)
What you are saying is true, more specifically the new line of thinking in the race world is not deciding the psi per tire but rather per rider weight, bike weight rim design and road conditions (and luggage weight when touring, and per wheel front/back based on bike geometry if rider plans on getting out of the saddle or not). So Nanamemnon should be factoring in their own weight and the bike weight when choosing a specific psi to try, dropping 2psi every ride according to their floor pump (all pump gauges are different) until they find a happy point. I've had heavier riders get tons of pinch flats from lighter people telling them to try much lower psis than what it says on the tire, solved by actually inflating past the recommendation on the tire.

For example: I ride my GP4000sII 25mm on 22mm internal rim width at 98psi rear / 90 psi front on sunny days and it's super plush, no punctures, no pinches. In winter I'm at 100 psi rear / 95 psi front same positive experience.

EDIT: also pro tip if anyone has trouble stretching these tires onto their rims, let the tires stretch outside of the packaging in a humid room for about an hour before trying to mount. Pre stuff the tube in the tire before mounting and inflate. Deflate, remove the tube then mount as normal. It helps to preshape this tire before trying to mount otherwise it will fight you.
Pretty much universal if your road bike has 700c rims (as opposed to something like a 70's Schwinn with 27").

If your rims are wide, stay away from the narrower sizes. They'll fit, but will have a very harsh ride and be prone to pinch flats.

Good deal, I know about a month ago, these were hard to find even at retail price; I ended up paying way more.

I have an old road bike. The tires are fine, but these look nice. Will they fit any road bike?

Depends on the size of your rims. Most "older" road bikes ran 700x23 tires. (It says the size on your current tires). If you are running 23s you can probably get away with 23, 25, or 28. That is these, so YES

If your "older" bike isn't that old and is running 32's, NO.

I'm not at home and can't check the tires. It's a 22" bike, and I guess that refers to the tires. I'll go home and check and will probably get the 23.

Only the 23 and 25 at this price. These are great tires at this price, i love the GP4000s and have ridden through several pairs. Current pair is nearing end of life, might have to jump on this.

No most likely that's your frame size. If it's a newer road bike it most likely will be 25"(maybe 28"), 23" is kinda considered "older" standards.

Yup...the fact it's a 23" bike means they haven't adopted the metric system yet, so you are most likely fine.
That's a tall bike, btw...like > 6'4" tall.

Good tire. I've been running these on my road bike the last few years and have had positive results with them. They last pretty good (about 4k miles per set) and have decent flat resistance for a skinny tire like this.

I just put a new set on my bike about 600 miles ago. I think I paid about $43 per tire, so this is slightly cheaper. Looks like prices have gone up since I bought that pair. I went ahead and grabbed another set with this deal, as I know I'll need them eventually and this way I have spares in case I hit something big enough to wreck a tire.

I've now posted three separate times about a site offering 12% back at Backcountry & have had the posts removed each time. I never mentioned the site by name yet it still has been deleted. So again, 12% c@$hback at certain a c@$hback site makes these tires close to their all time lowest price.

Depending on your rims and design you might want to stick to the 4000's, like 4000 II.
These tend to run a little tighter so make sure your wheel brand model is compatible.

I think there is a better chart than this, I'll see if I can find it later if no one else post it 1st.

https://www.continental-tires.com...-prix-5000

I switched to their TL's when they finally came out. I ride Easton's and hopefully if I get a flat I don't have to add a tube and just plug it, that will be a pain on the road.
Other than that their the best tubeless tire out there just like their GP's are!
